About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've recently moved back home to Vancouver after living abroad with my partner Matt (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/matt-bula/) and am trying to take in as much as I can while also juggling a full time job (that I also happen to enjoy a lot).

ABOUT ME

Right now I work at a fertility clinic as an andrologist. Prior I was an ESL/Science teacher in Korea, and before that I was studying wine science. I try to climb and dance whenever possible.

I love wine, but am by no means a heavy drinker or partier. I love to spend time outside whenever possible. If I could move my lab outside into the sunshine I would. In the evenings I like to relax, enjoy a delicious meal, and go dancing afterwards.

I'm open-minded, very respectful (of living spaces and personal spaces), but also enjoy good conversation, creating meals together, sharing tea, and playing board games.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm very open-minded, extremely tidy and respectful, am learning to embrace the quirks that life brings, and have a laugh when I do something silly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've spent time couchsurfing through Europe and a bit in Asia recently. Right now I'm trying to make my life work again here in Vancouver.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's been such a lovely way to travel and see the world. I love meeting new people in their hometowns and experiencing it how they do in their everyday lives. Almost everyone has been truly wonderful.

I've always had an open door policy with my couch/floor, and friends have shared similar views with theirs.

Interests

I love to cook, eat, drink wine and lead tastings (this is also a part-time job for me back home). I spend a lot of time surfing, rock climbing (sport, trad), dancing (lindy hop, balboa, blues, tango, tap, whatever..), and riding my bike. To relax I really enjoy listening to live music (especially jazz/blues), going to the theatre, playing board games, knitting, reading, and meeting new people!

Music, Movies, and Books

There's no pattern here. It's about as eclectic as life can get:

Edward Scissorhands, Dirty Dancing, Lord of the Rings

Jurassic 5, Local Natives, Big Boi, The Decemberists, Bon Iver, The XX, Beach House, Wintersleep, Regina Spektor, Bennie Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Melody Gardot

I only read books I think I'll enjoy, and I read about a book a week. I don't have one favourite. I love them all.
