About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Back to Europe after a one year travel around the world. I visited the following countries: Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina , Chile, New Zealand, Laos, Cambodia and Japan. I met researchers in each country to share their work to the public: it is available on https://worldresearchersblog.wordpress.com
I am currently in Budapest

ABOUT ME

I lived in France, Hungary, Canada and Switzerland before starting this big travel. I like writing, learning, photography (chercheursdumonde on Instagram and Yannick Martinez on Flickr), theater, juggling, nature and almost everything linked to water (sound of a river, swimming, watching a lake, walking near the sea, kayaking). I followed massage lessons and I like yoga and meditation even if I am a perfect beginner in both disciplines. I am open minded and like to discover different ways of life.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and learn. Life can be boring if you don't experiment its aspects. It can be accross travel, people, food, books, sport, all sorts of activities that will show a part of who we truly are. We are what we do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host each time I can (not many time yet, just once when I was living in Vancouver and once while living in Switzerland). It is not about sparing money for me but rather about giving an insight about the country were I live. I consider I am like an ambassador of my country and try to give the willingness of knowing it more. I go regularly to couchsurfing meetings and some events mostly the language exchange ones. I like a lot the concept.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All the people I met so far gave me wonderful experience by sharing about their life, their travels and own story. It is extremely enjoyable to meet persons from different countries, to discuss with them and understand their life style.

Interests

photography, good talk, danse (mostly rock and roll but I love to learn different styles: tango, cha cha...), swimming etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read, mostly in french because I am lazy to do so in other languages. Science fiction, short novels, long ones, I am not very picky. A few authors: Amélie Nothomb, Alfred Hitchcock, Christian Jack, Barjavel.
Movies, also not picky at all, it depends on my mood. Action, comedy, science fiction, drama... I enjoy watching movies.
Series: Black mirror, Game of thrones, Simpson and Big bang theory.
Music: here I am more complicated. I have no music culture and if I can enjoy a few songs just like that but I am not really able to enjoy a complete concert. I wish I would be able to enjoy more this art...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam in a cave in Hungary. Diving in "La réunion", (a french paradise island). Smoke a cigar at La Havana, Cuba... (Ok, usually I never smoke, but here I had to try ;) ) I gave English lessons in Bolivia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a bit of French or French culture, teach Rock n roll, juggling with 3 balls, give you many tips about photography.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Photography tricks, Basic Lightroom lesson, French culture. I am not a master chef but I can cook something simple for you and give a very fancy name to give the feeling it is a 4 star dish.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Egypt, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Laos, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Russian Federation, Singapore, Spain, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Hungary, Switzerland
