About Me

CURRENT MISSION

**be happy** still working on the ways to achieve it

ABOUT ME

Hi all,

I have been living in Boston for the past ~12 years, and for the past 6-7 years have been running a research laboratory as a professor at Harvard Medical School. My research work is mainly focused on trying to figure out the unknowns of how our hearing works and how to fix it when it doesn't. I am certainly working more than I should, which worries me a bit. To change that, I have joined this network of amazing people in a hope to do more interesting things in my life, and meet new people. I have high hopes and somewhat ambitious travel plans for the nearest future. If asked my friends, they would say that I am fairly smart in my own way, easy going, hospitable, like to have fun and sometimes boring (so, please stop me if I am :)

PHILOSOPHY

Do your best everywhere!
Work 100% when working and rest 100% when resting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I really like it when I have time for it

Interests

I like traveling a lot, but the more I live the more I understand that I have to spend more time traveling, rather than talking about that! I like biking, interesting conversations about different cultures with a glass of beer and nice food.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies. Since I have only recently moved to Boston, right now I am trying to watch the movies featuring Boston/Harvard/MIT to get a better feeling of the area.

Music. Sometimes I feel like I can get used to any music and start to like it. I don't know if it means that I have no taste in music, or, maybe I didn't try enough to really understand what I like and what I don't.

Books. I am not sure how my mind works, but whatever information is not used at the moment is getting trashed. I caught myself on reading the same books twice without realizing that I have read it a few years ago. I would realize that I read it before only about 100-200 pages down the road :) This is awful. Lately I started to log the books on my goodreads account and use audiobooks instead. I would say that the past ~100 books I went throuhg were audiobooks and I would definitely have no time to read even 10% of them, so this is working out really well for me...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a night sleeping on the street in Sicily - that was something! With a great company and awesome sea view...

During the same trip I had an attempt to sleep on the beach in Costa Brava near Barcelona, and instead ended up just drinking the whole night with strangers checking on me if I was dead or something :)

I had a short but amazing and fun camping experience, with a trip a remote location accessible only from the sea, which unexpectedly ended up being a nude beach with quite hostpitable ladies that invited us over to stay the night and provided with food/drinks and music. I would call it my first CouchSurfing experience:)

I hope there is more to come

Teach, Learn, Share

Normally I don't feel like I know something important to teach, but sometimes I do get that feeling and I try to share my knowledge and experience. Most of the time I end up getting a message that nobody really asked me to teach them anything :)
