I do biology, climb mountains and fly planes and write about it all.

PHILOSOPHY

The Scandinavians have a great word called "Hygge" which has no direct English translation but is a word for cosiness, comfort and a general inner warmth andhas an adjective form of "hyggelig." One Dane decribed it as "the feeling when you rent a cottage and pack it with your closest friends."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I travel, I like to have time alone but also time with friends and I think couchsurfing will offer this.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was in Ottawa in May 2013 and it was the best introduction to the community I could have asked for! Canada was a great place to surf the seven sofas!

Interests

I am a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. I studied biology and now I am training to be a paramedic. However, I was brought up to do something in the arts be it painting, photography or writing and continue to this day. I love to learn the language of the places I visit and learn local recipes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Kilimanjaro, learnt to fly a plane, I write for British Newspapers, Spent 4 weeks on expedition in the Arctic at 16 and spent 6 months in Canada. Now I'm a bit more settled and training to be a paramedic.
