About Me

I love to travel, discover the world and learn about new cultures.
I am usually quiet, but despite my shyness I love to make new friends!
I'm also a bit of a burner (I tend to go to burning-man related events).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Wherever I go, I like to understand how the locals live, and to try to become one of them.

Interests

Things I love and that often occupy my mind: food and drinks from around the world and enjoying them in good company, technology (particularly free software), photography (as a beginner discovering that domain), chatting about cultural differences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: random subset of ones I like: The Big Lebowski. Rock and Rolla. L'Auberge Espagnole. Le Dîner de Cons. The Usual Suspects. Some like it hot. 12 Angry Men. Anything with minions in it. A lot of things, especially if it's funny or clever or both.
Music: a lot of metal things (from Led Zeppelin to Machine Head, from Dream Theater to Nine Inch Nails), some rock things (REM, Eels, ...), some jazzy things, reggae things, and many more things, depending on my mood and alcohol level. Often when working I just have FIP as background music.
Books: I enjoy a lot of different things. Lately, my favorites might be Harry Potter (only read the books recently) and A Song Of Ice And Fire. But I can enjoy totally different things if it's well written.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking 500+ km on the "Camino de Santiago" (path of Saint James, along the northern coast of Spain).
Going to Nowhere (the "european burning man") and running fun projects there.
I've lived in 4 countries.
What, I'm supposed to only give one? I guess I've been too privileged and lucky in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning about almost anything is one of my favourite occupation. I'm that kind of people who would look up something real quick on wikipedia after dinner, and still be browsing through it at 4am when I realise it might be time to go to bed.

Most of the things I know well are related to computers, and more generally to science.

I don't necessarily know much in the field, but I like languages. I can chat in French, English and Spanish, and have some vague nonworking notions of German and Mandarin Chinese. I can probably understand some Catalan or some Portuguese or Galician as well.
I find the history of languages and their evolution fascinating.
I'm also discovering the world of photography these days and I'm quite enjoying it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to cook. I can be handy with various DIY tasks.
