About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore the world, make new friends, and enjoy life.

ABOUT ME

Hey, I'm Mike.

I'm pretty positive and easy-going guy. Life's too short to worry or complain about the little things. I'm very comfortable being on my own, but it's always nice to meet a local that would like to hang out and show me around.

PHILOSOPHY

Hakuna matata.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just a surfer at the moment. As soon as I settle down and find my own place, I'll be a host for sure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had quite a few couchsurfing experiences on my road trip last year, and every one of them was great. All of my hosts have been very welcoming and entertaining. Each one has been different, and they have all been memorable.

Interests

Hiking, camping, walking around cities/parks, going to hockey/baseball games, board/card/video games, kayaking, casually playing pretty much any sport, seeing live music, watching movies, music festivals, checking out unique museums, trying to play guitar/ukulele, and the occasional afternoon nap.

Music, Movies, and Books

Way too many to list. How about three good ones that you don't hear people mention very often? Primer, In Bruges, The Man from Nowhere.

My favorite music is rock. Classic stuff like The Who, Aerosmith, Van Halen, and newer stuff like Foo Fighters, Weezer, Stereophonics.

I mainly read nonfiction, but I recently got hooked on Game of Thrones and read the books over the summer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The speed at which complete strangers have become good friends is nothing short of amazing. I've seen a lot of natural and man-made beauty, but the generosity and hospitality of my hosts tops it all.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a beginner myself, but I could teach you some guitar chords. Want to watch a movie but don't know which one? I can help with that too. Despite being from Napa I know nothing about wine, so you can forget about that one.

I love learning in general! If you'd like to teach me something, you've got yourself a student.

I'm afraid I don't have much to give aside from my time and attention. If you have any chores or projects that you need help with, I'd be happy to lend a hand.
