ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Becky. I like to do things on the spur of the moment while overthinking everything! I like to talk about the important things in life (like adventures, beliefs, feminism) and the other important things (where to get the best salt beef bagels on a night out in london, where the best takoyaki in Japan is). I tend to travel with my boyfriend Robert who's had his profile (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/bobbyknows/)speak for both of us over our past few surfing years but I felt like I should get my own one up and running.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a firm agnostic. This means I am non judgmental towards all religions and beliefs as long as they are not hurting anyone. I really enjoy learning about other's views on religion or indeed the religion they follow.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am yet to host officially! I have always lived with people who weren't comfortable with it or just didn't have the space. One day soon I hope I will be able to have people come and stay so I can show them the hospitality I've received as well as repay the favor to people I've surfed with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed in Portugal, Spain and all over the USA an loved every second of it. It's been weird and wonderful and I've met so many people I'd be happy to have to stay. I also can't wait to get involved in meet ups when I move to Japan!

Interessen

i have some kooky interests due to my illustration practice, I collect ethically sourced animal skulls (i.e I find them) and will visit university's zoological departments to go drawing. I love any museum slightly out of the ordinary. I also do a lot of work based around the philosophical side of tribes an their nomad sensibilities (something couchsurfers often have!). On the normal side I like playing guitar, singing, people watching, feminism, hiking, birdwatching, street fashion and FOOD!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Movies : All About Lily-Chou-Chou, Ghost World, Science of Sleep, The Darjeeling Limited, Spirited Away, Cowboy Bebop, TekkonKinkreet, Persepolis, Lost in Translation, Where the Wild Things Are, Battle Royale, Grizzly Man, American Nomads, No Country for Old Men and erm...Bride Wars..love a good girly movie sometimes..

Please please bring movies to watch but bare in mind I scare easy!

Music: EVERYTHING. Seriously but I mostly listen to indie, Hip Hop and Pop. But favourites include, Patrick Wolf, Sleater-Kinney, Hole, PJ Harvey, The Knife, Caribou, Modeselektor, Nicki Minaj, Girl Talk, Foreign Beggars, The Cure and erm..Britney. (please share music with me! I love it!)

Books: I read constantly. Favourites are Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier,Battle Royale by Koushan Takami, Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides, The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides, Ghost World by Daniel Clowes, High Fidelity by Nick Hornby

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Too many! Hitchhiking around Iceland and hitch hiking to the Grand Canyon and back, sitting amongst elephant seals in Argentina, eating gourmet food served by a false samarai from an egg in Tokyo, wandering down a beach with whales less than a mile from you in Patagonia, living with an ex nun in incredibly rural Costa Rica when you speak very little spanish!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I've gotten okay at hitchhiking over the years so I could teach you the basics. People have enjoyed learning a little about drawing people's anatomy from me too. I can share my music, my travelling stories and tips and healthy philosophical debates.
Please teach me to cook, I'm awful!
