À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Caring deeply, loving intensely, joyfully exploring, learning and growing

WHO AM I?

I'm Brazilian - Israeli and I currently live in Tel Aviv. I'm working and doing a masters, so I've been quite busy lately, but always up for an afternoon on the beach, and evening run or some conversation over beers!

I have lived and worked in places as varied as New York, Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Geneva, but my heart is still in Brazil, where I was born and raised.

My passion is traveling to places people find it difficult to find on maps and exploring cities where I can barely understand the language. I'm always trying to improve the languages I speak and I have traveled extensively throughout South America and Central America, Western and Eastern Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host, and I surf! I currently live with roommates in Tel Aviv, but I might be able to host!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've used Couch Surfing while backpacking in Europe and I had an wonderful experience - from an amazing host in Istanbul to the craziest couple that I've met in my life in Athens, Couch Surfing allowed to meet some pretty cool people around the world!

I've also hosted a couple of people! Funny fact - they were both bikers! Hosting was an awesome experience and I hope I will be able to help more people out soon!

Centres d'intérêt

I love running, and I try to go for a jog or a run every day. I also work out every day, which certainly keeps me sane and helps me relax and recharge my batteries. Yoga is also something I try to do at least once a week - it's an amazing way to relax!

I also love foreign movies, so every now and then I'm watching some movies from places like Denmark or Iran. I also enjoy learning foreign languages, and right now I'm studying both French and German.

Another passion of mine, perhaps the greatest of all, is traveling. I absolutely love the feeling of arriving in a new place and then little by little uncover some mysteries of a new city, a new culture, a new language... A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to backpack through Europe by myself, what turned out to be a life-changing experience. Since then, I've been to over 25 countries and counting :)

I also like going out with friends - I love going for walks, grabbing a cup of coffee with my friends at a local coffee shop or just enjoying a good read under a tree.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I love watching movies, some of my favorites are J. Edgar, Inglourious Basterds, Amelie Poulin, City of God, Contra Corriente, A Single Man, Broderskab, The Prophet, 21 grams, Chinatown, Babel, Volver, All about my mother, Bad education, Run Lola Run, The lives of others, The White Ribbon, The wave, Good Bye Lenin, the Edukators, Sophiel Scholl, Europa Europa, Labyrinth of Lies, Phoenix, etc.

Books, too many to list! Last one I read (again): Around the World in 80 days, by Jules Verne. :)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Over the past few years, I have managed to travel to over thirty countries on my own savings and on an extremely limited budget, and these trips have changed my fundamental perception of the world. There are a number of experiences that have profoundly impacted me: teaching children and teenagers in some of the most violent slums of Rio de Janeiro about the transformative power of education; building houses to orphans in Haiti; visiting a chaotic Athens in the height of the austerity crisis in Europe; working in some of the poorest villages of Latin America in the mountains of Honduras; and experiencing the oftentimes harsh reality of the Middle East through refugee camps and settlements across various countries.

All of these experiences have shaped my identity and made me who I am.

They have developed my sensitivity, cultural awareness, creativity and persistence, as well as my innate passion and determination to help others live a life of dignity and freedom, all capable to strive to the their fullest potential.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can teach some foreign languages! Portuguese or Spanish, as well as some French. I'm also very interested in current affairs, economic development, financial markets and monetary policy - some things that I can certainly teach and learn about!

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I love cooking and I'd love to cook a special dish to my hosts!
