Interests
Whenver I hear different languages or lifestyles it always forces me to turn my attention and learn more.
I'm in grad school studying viruses in subsurface environments, so I spend most of my time working hard towards my degree. During my bike ride to campus, I like to listen to language learning tapes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During my time as an intern at NASA, I was lucky enough to be sent to the Atacama desert in Chile, the most dry, barren landscape on Earth. There were no plants or animals as far as the eye could see, apart from the random vulture in the sky. Daytime was around 40C, nighttime was about 0C. When the sun is setting, the time it takes to go from t-shirts and shorts to thick jackets is amazingly short. But when the Southern stars came out, free from the glow of city lights, I was forced to stop and stare. You could literally see the spiral arms of the Milky way. Nothing else has given me the visceral feeling of being on a small rock hurtling through space.
