About Me

I've been described as clean, free-spirited, adventuresome, friendly, polite, easily-entertained, open-minded, and caring. One of my friends considers my best quality is the fact that I'm always down to try new experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently quit my job with the intention of traveling for 3 months. My first stop was Costa Rica to learn how to surf, become more comfortable in the ocean, understand the basics of surf etiquette, and develop a passion for the sport (mission complete, I'm totally hooked).

Next, I'm heading to the Mediterranean to learn how to cook as the region is largely understood as having the healthiest cuisine. My first stop will be Italy as their food makes me salivate the most and I'll see where the world takes me from there.

I plan to end my trip snowboarding in Japan as they're known for having extremely fluffy, dry powder, that dumps on a daily basis.

Beyond all of this, my mission on Couchsurfing is to make traveling more safe, fun, affordable, and comfortable for both you and me.

Interests

There are too many things that get my heart racing or interest captivated, to list here, but here is a brief beginning: snowboarding, surfing, reading, swimming, yoga, long boarding, art, cooking.

I can be both a wild child or a complete nerd. One day I may jump off a 30m(100ft) cliff into a lake, and the next day I may be completely content left alone to read a book for hours on end. I'm almost always willing to wake up earlier than the sun for a worthy activity, or simply huddle up with some snacks and a movie on a stormy night.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Movie: Good Will Hunting Favorite Book: Marching Powder (about a very unique prison in Bolivia). Favorite Artists: Chance the Rapper (also love: Tokyo Police Club, The Strokes, Mates of State, Rage Against The Machine, The Sounds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Fleetwood Mac, Atmosphere)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Built an igloo and lived in it for 3 days in the backcountry.

Teach, Learn, Share

My current obsessions include learning to cook, perfecting my Spanish, getting a basic understanding of Italian, and continuing to practice surfing and snowboarding. As a desk worker, I've found that my body is starting to fall apart, so stretching and foam rolling are a daily activity that I'm trying to build into a habit.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Beyond the recipes I've mastered in the kitchen, I can make a perfectly balanced mezcal cocktail; teach you how to surf, snowboard, or build an igloo; and how to foam roll and stretch to help resolve musculoskeletal issues you may have. Additionally, I'm always happy to help anyone who is learning English.
