About Me

********************************* DEAR SURFERS ! **********************************

Since the new website (end of 2014) it is very clear that CS is not anymore about trust, gift and disinterested sharing. I'm moving to BeWelcome, which is non-profit and open source based.
I keep my CS profile open because there's still a lot of great people to meet on CS.

Copy-pasted style requests = copy-pasted responses.
I'm interested in meeting people, not offering a free hostel service.
PLEASE DON'T contact me if you didn't especially enjoy reading my profile.
Explain why you want to meet ME, else don't loose your time with me.

Besides, I am LGBTQI+ friendly and I accept emergency requests if you find yourself in an unsafe situation (even late in the night).

ABOUT ME

I've been making electronics and softwares for artistic projects for a few years. Now I'm doing a PhD on tactile illusions. Fun, isn't it ?

I like discovering other cultures and way of doing. I lived 6 months and Germany, went twice to Japan, traveled in a dozen of countries. I dream of taking a few months to cross Asia. I'm fascinated by Japan, and very curious about Taiwan and South Korea.

I love food ! And I'm quite curious about what and how people eat all over the world. I'm veggie one week over two. I try to eat quality food but I want to try anything once, and twice if I liked it ! Quite the same about alcohol, I especially love craft beers.

I like hiking and getting lost in beautiful cities, and discover unusual and disused places as well.

I also used to hang a lot in alternative places such as hackerspaces, artistic squats, etc

I used to play the piano, and tried various stuff like clarinet or accordion without success. We've got a bunch of instruments at home, you're welcome to jam with us !

I like complex approaches in thinking, like Kundera, Spinoza, Bourdieu, Chomsky... If you're also into it, let's talk about it !

PHILOSOPHY

They didn't know it was impossible so they did it. (Mark Twain)

Matters of great concern should be treated lightly; matters of small concern should be treated seriously. (Ghost Dog : The Way of the Samurai)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Actually I'd rather be on a trust-oriented network (like CS used to be) than on a for-profit social service (like CS is now).
Like most hosts, I just want to give and to share. Not offer a free hostel service. I don't get why so much people don't get it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosting 30 people over a 3 weeks period :) Quite intense !

Hosted people from : Germany, South and North Italy, Spain, Latvia, Singapore, Poland, Australia, Belgium, USA, Japan, Costa Rica, Denmark, Netherlands, Scottland, Portugal, South Korea, Sweden, Ukraine, Serbia, Russia... And France :)

And it was so great ! Have a look on the references :)
