ABOUT ME

I am an easy going person who equally enjoys having a good laugh or a philosophical discussion. I'm also a bit of an idealist, but I like to think that I'm not quixoitic about it. To be honest, I can be cynical at times too, but you know, there's a saying that goes, "Scratch any cynic, and you'll find a disappointed idealist."

My sense of humor runs a little on the wacky side, and there is nothing I enjoy more than absolutely horrible puns. The more god-awful they are, the better!

I also used to work as a teacher (I miss my students terribly!), but I'm now a graduate student working on my master's in education. I LOVE learning everything about everything. There's just so much to read, so much to learn, so much to discover, and not enough time to explore everything!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've never couchsurfed before, but I can help out. I'm good at doing repairs and fixing computers, so if you need anything fixed or set up, I can get it done! I can also help out with cleaning, organizing, or anything else that may need to be done.

Interests

I particularly enjoy reading, classical music (especially Russian composers), computers, traditional 2D animation techniques, astronomy, physics and math (I recently discovered how wonderfully fascinating they are, despite how repetitive and formulaic my teachers made them appear), learning about different cultures, enjoying nature, cloud formations, the psychology behind learning and teaching, the mechanics behind how things work, and the list goes on and on and on.

Music, Movies, and Books

-Books: I am primarily interested in books that predate the 1950s...basically anything that is not too 'modern.' Some of my favorite books are "Wind, Sand and Stars" by Saint-Exupery, "Notes from Underground" and "White Nights" by Dostoevsky, and "Three Men in a Boat" by Jerome K. Jerome.

-Music: Classical (especially Russian composers). Some of my favorites composers are Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Chopin, Bruch, Saint Saens, and Tchaikovsky.
