About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make the world seem less big.

ABOUT ME

Recent college grad who just started that whole full-time employment gig. Adjusting well to the sudden increase in income (minimum wage no more), but not so much to the fact that I can't travel that much with it (RIP 4-month-long summer). I spend my days daydreaming about new places to visit, looking up flights that I can't book, and watching an unhealthy amount of House Hunters International. There's some work in there too.

I absolutely love music, although I can't play any instruments or sing. I love concerts even more, and would gladly spend every night at a show if I had the funds to do that sort of thing. I'm always looking for a new adventure and people to meet.

PHILOSOPHY

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've always imagined.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think I've always been drawn to the idea of couchsurfing, because the majority of the time when I travel, I've had some sort of immersion into the culture (i.e. host family). I'm more interested in learning about cultures and experiencing them than seeing sights.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted, couchsurfed, and attended some couchsurfing events!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has been an absolutely wonderful experience for me throughout the years. The kindness of of my hosts never ceases to amaze me and I'm always sad to leave! Once I live on my own again, I'd love to host people, but in the meantime, I'm surfing.

Interests

Music, whether it be live or recorded.

Eating. Drinking. Cycling it off.

Home renovations and nice furniture. I'd love to flip a place one day.

Learning new languages. I really need to learn French, seeing as I make a fool out of myself every time I try to read something in it. Would love to learn some Korean too - mainly just to sing along to K-Pop.

Really fascinated by public transportation. I try to take all forms of it every place I go.

I was slightly addicted to Craigslist and eBay for a time. So I guess I just like finding good deals???

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two day white water rafting/camping trip in Costa Rica was awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I make a few things well: Apple Pie, Mac n Cheese, Chicken Pot Pie, something else that I'm probably forgetting (sounding very American here).

I really like line dances (Wobble, Soulja Boy, Electric Slide, etc.), so I can teach you those. You'll instantly become the life of the party!

Learn:
Always down to learn a new language.

I've had a DSLR for quite some time now and have yet to properly learn how to use it. Please help.

I used to play the piano and violin, but have lost all of my musical skill. Would love to learn how to read music again and perhaps learn guitar.
