ABOUT ME

I was raised in Southern California and have lived in Northern California most of my adult life. I love traveling, hiking into the wilderness, gardening, soaking in hot tubs/springs, taking road trips, and listening to music. I've spent my entire career in education.

PHILOSOPHY
It's all about the process, when the process is paid attention to, it typically yields a great product. It's all about form, when you are mindful of your form you can do almost anything. Intelligence is knowing the difference between the things we can control and the things we can't. Radically accept things, serve others, help others, and be worthy of imitation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the spontaneity of meeting new people, I believe we all have gifts to share and without the courage and willingness to meet strangers we lose a lot of potential great stories, wisdom, and future friendships.

Interests

I love traveling, hiking, backpacking, cooking, gardening, meditating, surfing, and biking. I like to pick five goals to complete in five years. Usually they involve travel, adventure and pushing my personal limits.

I don't really watch much TV or movies but the movies that come to mind are, The Beautiful Mind, Motorcycle Diaries, any psychological thriller, and most documentaries.
Books: Biographies, cook books, gardening books, and books on education. Favorite book: The Tao of Pooh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched a perfect slow motion sunrise on the top of Mount Whitney, after solo hiking for five days.
