About Me

I discovered my love for travelling in 2014 and since then I take every opportunity to see new places, meet new people, try to speak the language and experience new things. I quit my job in January and have been living in the Dolomite mountains in Italy for 6 weeks to learn the language and be close to the beautiful mountains which has been an incredible experience. But I will be leaving soon in search for work to follow my heart and live abroad....somewhere I can learn a new language and meet more incredible people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of the greatest joys of travelling is the people you meet and getting to know the life of a local...couchsurfing is perfect for this!

Interests

Being outside in nature, exploring new places and challenging myself is what I love to do. I love to be around people and get to know their motivations in life - it's amazing to meet such interesting people around the world who are so inspiring! Cooking with friends is the best - because I'm eating AND socialising...what could be better! Oh, and maybe with some cool tunes on too. I really enjoy listening to music and love being introduced to new artists!

Sport makes me happy! For all of the above reasons (and you can eat more!)
I completed my first half iron man in Austria in Aug 2016 which was a real highlight of my year. I also have loved attempting to cycle on a vintage bike in the "Eroica" in Italy for 200k... with punctured tyres and taking the wrong route...but that's what I love - it's all part of the experience and adventure right?!

I'm up for trying almost anything :)

  • triathlon
  • music
  • cycling
  • hiking
  • sailing
  • snowboarding
  • trail running

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not very good at making time to read, but I did love Shantaram (it may have taken me 1 year to read, but shhh - lets not talk about that!)
Many types of music from classical, jazz, house...try me :)
Movies - 007 is always a great film. I'm a guilty lover of The Holiday too and Pirates of the Caribbean with Mr Depp.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Huayana Potosi near La Paz in Bolivia...6000m high and I made it :)
Lived in the jungle with just a guide and nothing else for 4 days - we survived on bamboo water and fish that we caught. We made a shelter from leaves. I'll never forget this experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach flute and piano and love doing this.
I meet up with language exchange people to share language skills with each other.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If I have a recipe book, I can be a good cook :) if you dare try...! But otherwise, I love to share my experiences with others.
