About Me

Hello,

After living in different cities or countries without ever staying for more than 3 years in the same place, I went back to my hometown during the covid and discovering the area of Villeurbanne, where my flat is, which is quite nice. And since the covid is behind us now, I left my job again to go travelling and exploring different things for a while.
I like sharing with people who are interested in others (I am using that word on purpose because I like it more than “interested in foreign cultures”, since I learn a lot in France too, every time I meet someone with different experiences and a different background from mine) and in discovering different places. I have been on the couchsurfing website for around 10 years, and met great people thanks to that, both as guest and host.

I did social work in not-for-profit organisations, and enjoy, in my freetime, dancing (latin dances), walking in nature, playing cello, travelling, seeing friends, watching movies and reading...

There is no use saying that hosting couchsurfers does not only consist, from both sides, in providing a place to stay for free. I see it as a means of sharing nice moments with locals, if they have time to do so.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I am in my hometown, I do not feel like getting stuck in routine and see the same people everyday (even though I love them), so hosting or meeting couchsurfers sometimes is a nice opportunity to meet different people regularly!
When I am on travel, I feel like sharing moments with locals more than visiting any touristy monument. I was amazed many times by the people I met thanks to that network.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving my permanent job to go to Chile with a one way ticket and a working holiday visa, without knowing anyone and without speaking Spanish, struggling at the start and ending up working as a tour guide, which I loved doing.
I counted parts of that adventure on my blog:
www.chiliconrana.over-blog.com

Driving with an old Twingo with an Australian friend from Lyon to Berlin to play a gig in a former cabaret transformed in a bar.
