About Me

With the last changes on CouchSurfing, my old profile is gone ! Here's a much shorter one :

I'm an ACROYOGA ADDICT. I'll travel hundres of kilometers / miles to get the opportunity to practice / teach / play. So please, if you're into acroyoga or want to try it, SEND ME A MESSAGE !

What I usually say to people who don't know CouchSurfing : when one can't travel because of work/school but still wants to see the world... Well, that's the good thing about hosting : when you can't go to the world, make it come to you !

So, if you want to meet me, do send me a (PERSONALIZED, can't stress it enough) message and we'll definitely meet up somewhere !

I've spent most of the last 5 years travelling around Europe and South America, and I am now trying to adapt to a "regular" life, working as an engineer in Bordeaux... But it's not for me.

UPDATE : finally quitted ! back to travelling again :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said : when you can't go travel the world, make the world come to you !
I mostly started CS hosting : after living in big, international Mumbai for a couple of months, coming back to "regular" life in France got me really upset. I started missing being able to meet so many people from so many different countries. Everyone's unique, everyone's experience is something I can learn from, and so I decided to host in Bordeaux, and was blessed to meet amazing surfers.

As a surfer, it takes very little time to realize that surfing is not about free accommodation : it's about being with the locals, learning the way they live, their daily routine, and I soon found out it was the kind of travel that suited me best.

One of my most remarkable experience happened in December, when I hosted 3 people from the US. What was supposed to be a 2 days stay in Bordeaux ended being a 2 weeks trip together, going around France, the Basque country, and Spain, ending up 1100 k.m from where we started (Sevilla !). That was one of the first really spontaneous thing that happened in my life, and definitely the way to travel that fits me the most.

I also like to be active in the city I live in, by organizing / participating to events. It's a great way to meet open minded people, as well as introducing new members to the CouchSurfing community.

Interests

I feel like this section keeps on changing from one month to an other ! Here's the current ones :

top 1 interest is, of course, travelling. There are so many countries out there, so many different culture and people.. and so much to learn from those differences. My way of travelling is to backpack for a bit, then settle down somewhere for a couple of months, doing a job I've never done before, learning a language, a culture... Make myself feel at home. And as soon as I feel confortable ( usually a couple of months), it's time to move again !

More materialistic interests : Food ! I like to eat it but to cook it as well, so if you come, expect to try my food, and maybe to make me try yours !

I'm fond of trekking and nature, and to me visiting a country is also about getting lost in a forest / mountains, and to find yourself asking yourself "what the hell am I doing here ?". To me, this is what matters : to confront to situations you are not used to, and see how you react.

One of the things I want to do is skydiving ! If you know any good spots, let me know !

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books of all time are Robin Hobb's Realm of the Elderlings.
I'm not an expert concerning movies, but I do love TV shows : The Office, Friends, How I met Your Mother, Scrubs, Doctor Who, and the list goes on !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing a father "burry" his newborn son in Varanasi, by the Ganga (India). That is an incredibly strong experience, and the strengh and faith of this father into what he belives were truely moving. It makes you wonder about what you believe in, what all your life is about, and what you want it to be.

Also, Christmas 2014 : halfway into the cooking of our Christmas dinner, we ran out of gas, and obviously no way to replace the tank. What seemed to be a really bad moment eventually led us into the most amazing Christmas dinner with some neighbors we met on the same day who invited us to share our food, and we ended having Christmas with the warmest family you could think of.
I love everything about life, even the bad moments. You never know what's coming next.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hm.. I can teach you math / physics and Signal processing ! This is extremely useful for everyday life.. Wait, it's not !

I've been travelling a around Europe. If you know how to do it, it can be extremely cheap.. So ask me, I'll be glad to help you out !

But I can teach you how to cook basic things (I'm everything but a chief, but I like to cook and to share that !).
