About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I will travel across the land, searching far and wide. These Pokemon, to understand, the power that's inside!

ABOUT ME

At the tender age of 22, I'm finally ready to travel the world. A little about me: I grew up in the American South but strangely never acquired a Southern accent. In the past few years, I made some decisions that have taken me off the traditional path- I took a break from my studies to take care of my ailing grandfather for 2 years and it's given me a new appreciation for life and the decisions we make. I'm very open to new things and I hope we can meet soon and share the finer things in life :)

PHILOSOPHY

"Justice is the only worship.
Love is the only priest.
Ignorance is the only slavery.
Happiness is the only good.
The time to be happy is now,
The place to be happy is here,
The way to be happy is to make others so.
Wisdom is the science of happiness."

- Robert G. Ingersoll

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I currently live in Dubai, so if anyone is looking for a place to crash or info about the UAE or the media scene in Afghanistan, let me know!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently returned from my first CS experience in Paris during my first trip across Europe (France, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands). Needless to say I had a great time and now I'm hooked :)

Interests

While I'm not the sporting type, I do enjoy long distance runs. I love hiking and generally appreciating the splendor of nature (by land and sea... I love tubing). I am an amateur cook who approaches cuisine as both an artist and a scientist. I've been a voracious reader ever since my youth. Technology has been a hobby of mine - I'm a Linux enthusiast and a huge fun of open source projects (I one day hope to use open source technology in a non-profit setting). Ultimately I enjoy occupying myself with activities that encourage a well-rounded view of the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending the 4th of July in NYC watching the fireworks was amazing. Recently I went to the top of the Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world) and the view from there was unbelievable.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have an awesome collection of Firefox add-ons that I can share with anyone. I'm also fairly knowledgeable about Linux distributions if anyone's interested in a superfast, virus-free desktop experience.

Knitting & carving are two things I've always wanted to learn.
