About Me

ABOUT ME

I have friends and people seem to have fun when I am with them, I've travelled quite a bit and have met people with whom I've often to become very comfortable with very quickly and managed to have good, funny and long conversations with. I genuinely love meeting people in this way and sharing so quickly. I think that anyone who accepts a stranger into their house is clearly a fantastic, kind and generous person who should only receive respect, enthusiasm and fun from their guest, I would hope that I can give and share all these things with anyone who would host me or meet me along the way.

I like making people laugh, large groups of friendly faces and adventure. I like live music, any interesting music, the outdoors, making things, getting to know people, reading, discussing, creating and being on the move. My dislikes are un-enthusiasm (if that works as a word), any one who is unwilling to laugh at themselves. But people kind of can be whoever they are and theres normally something interesting, even if they are any of the things I just said I dislike. Er, yeah.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm sorry but for me, personally, this is one step to far. I just don't think theres anything I can put here. I'd like to think that if we meet then some sort of personal philosophy might come through as we talk. Maybe. I'm sure some people have a personal philosophy, i might do, but, yeah. Sorry. I promise my personal philosophy in no way involves 'I must kill people in their sleep if they let me stay in their house'.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If ever I settle and have space to spare I would love to host, at the moment I'm hoping to meet people and contribute to their weekend (or however long I'm with them) in any way I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far just a few around Tunisia- hoping to add more.

Interests

I like to read, I like to listen to music and love to meet new people and discover new places. Talking is good. I like getting to know new places by walking around and just being there. Live music is great, lively places, beautiful places, old places, empty places, busy places. That is a really useless list.

Oh and cycling. I like cycling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read, I can't really list all the books i've ever read, the last three books I read where The Outsider by Camus, The Darker Nations: A People's History of the Third World by Vijay Prashad, 'How I escaped my certain fate' by Stewart Lee and I'm currently reading some Orwell and trying to read On the Origin of Species for some reason which I know can't quite remember. So maybe you can see some magical pattern in those and infer something.

Music: I have this little ipod shuffle thingy a friend gave me which can hold 70 songs, and though it means you can't listen to whole albums really (Unless you put a set of 4 or 5 albums on it, which can be good) it makes you come up with little 70 song playlists to suit your life at the time which is good. So, I'll go with whats happening currently again, currently on this thing I have Alvin TylerThe Black keys first little EP, The Band, some bon iver, chance the rapper, Crass, Far, Flight of the conchords, Fugazi, The Fugees, Fun, The Futureheads, Jeff Buckley, Marvin Gaye, Minutemen, Nirvana, OkGo, Pixies, Radiohead, Sidney Bechet, Stevie Wonder, Stornoway, Toots & the Maytals, The Ukulele orchestra of Great Britain, The Velvet Underground, Weezer, The Zombies and 4 non blondes. So yeah, thats whats I'm listening to at the moment. I really enjoy live music, I like playing music as well though I'm not particularly good at anything, my rap career just refuses to get of the ground..

I like movies. They are good. Apart from when they're bad. The three last films I saw were The Perverts Guide to Ideology, The Darjeeling Limited and Her. And Before Sunrise. And Sleepwalk with Me. And Is the Man who is tall happy. Thats more than 3.

I also like television shows when the television shows are good television shows. Louie is amazing. Stewart Lee's comedy vehicle, the daily show, er, breaking bad was good.

I really like live stuff. I've been developing an idea that Stand Up comedy is the highest most genuine art form. As you might imagine, this theory has met some resistance. Maybe you think that sounds stupid, well, we'll just have to talk about that then won't we.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing a policeman doing a handstand after being chalanged to a dance off (the policeman won), seeing the sun rise over Chumpon bay in Thialand, Hungarian Lemonade, French Rillettes (its kind of like Pate), the incredible turquoise colour of the rivers in New Zeiland, the sun setting over a deserted mayal lakes in Australia after kayaking from sun rise, the kindness of an Italian woman called Nina who took us in at our lowest eb and gave us freshly made Pizza. A camel rolling on its back like a happy dog. Silence as the sun set over the mountains at Lago D'iseo. Noise as the arcadia stage exploded at boomtown. Budapest sparking in the dark from Margit bridge or Gellért Hill. Friends laughing and dancing as the trumpet echos around the graveyard at sunrise in Liverpool. I've never seen a man eat his own head, and neither have you.
