ABOUT ME

Hey there! I am a dedicated fun loving person. I work hard for what I want and I love to help other people. I volunteer when ever I can. I have applied for the Peace Corps (a non profit organization in the US) and hope to be accepted by next summer(2013). I love art. I am really easy to talk to. I tend to not beat around the bush when there is a problem in my life. I like to handle things in a calm rational state. I love working with new people and meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

"Life is to short" - I know, not very original but it is true! I work hard for what I have but I also know that I have to have fun and enjoy life. I treat others the way I want to be treated and I try to constantly improve myself as a person.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am brand new to the couch surfing experience. However, I am very excited because I love meeting new people, making new friends, and sharing my experiences with others.

Interests

I am currently an Art History major and work in a local art gallery at home. I love art, I love seeing new art and learning about the people that produce it. I am a huge supporter of street art and self expression. Volunteering is another passion of mine. In my home town I work with the hospitality house, women's center, I sponsor military children for major holiday's, and I give my time to the art department on my home campus (Appalachian State University).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies and books!
Romantic Comedies are some of my favorite movies to watch when I'm home. I can't resist a great Action film though at the theaters, I love on screen explosions!
Books are a little tricky - I read mainly sifi and fantasy. With that being said I read a lot of vampire and fay books. My favorite series from when I was a kid is Cirque de Freak....not Twilight. I actually am not a fan of Stephanie Myers in general.
Music - It would be easier to say what I don't like then to say what I do! I really don't listen to a lot of country or death metal but that is about it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I have done is intern at Sea World for a week. I participated in what happens behind the scenes of the Sea World workers and animals. I worked with the feeding, cleaning, teaching, and rescuing systems and let me say it was one of the best experiences of my life.
Another amazing thing that I have done was put together a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness. Seeing all the supports and survives was one of the most touching things in the world. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

Food is a must have in new cultures! I am considered the baker of the family and would be willing to share my experience and joys of baking. I would also be willing to learn to cook new things!
