Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I got to know about Couchsurfing from my boyfriend who regularly hosts people and surfed through the world; I would love to get to know some couchsurfers all around the world, I would also host people but the flat I currently live is is rather tiny, just one room with no doors to close... so this will be better in my next one, I guess... ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did housesitting with my boyfriend in Brisbane for three weeks this January, which was great!! a cute Queenslander with a cat and a pool! :) and we got to know several people from the local couchsurfing community.

Interests

Job-related I have a special interest in exotic animals, especially reptiles, I try to learn more about from specialists all around the world!
in private I love to travel, I love backpacking and non-touristic destinations on the one hand, but on the other I also can be very happy with a city trip staying in a nice hotel or spending a weekend in a wellness hotel/spa!
I love many kinds of sports, eg running, swimming, I'm crazy for bikram yoga ( you make your exercises at 40 degrees Celsius), and I try some horseriding and some windsurfing (unfortunately I'm not very talented...)!
since last year I restarted writing, which I loved to do in school, but forgot for many years (except writing my dissertation, but this was not very creative work as you can imagine), currently I write a column about the life as a veterinarian in a veterinary journal.

Music, Movies, and Books

The DVD I'm currently watching is "The long way round" ( finished) and " The long way down" (still watching bit by bit), I love reading books, but mostly my sparetime is filled up with reading the daily newspaper and Veterinary Journals... the last book I finished was "The Beach" (I'm not really uptodate I know..., but it was really thrilling!), and I also like some Austrian Writers very much (Glavinic, Glattauer, Geiger)!
I´m open to many kinds of music, but I have a little crush on Country Music, I was the happiest person in Nashville with different Country TV channels and radio stations...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did ziplining and wild water rafting in Costa Rica (I'll never do this again!!!)
on the same trip we did the Ciudad Perdida trek in the north of Colombia, which was a great experience to hike through rather pristine rainforests, including the crossing of hundreds of rivers...
when I was a child I had polliwogs which I watched turning into frogs, maybe this was the beginning for my special interests in exotic animals... ;)
and several weeks ago I baked bread for the first time in my life which was an experience for me, and I was very proud afterwards!
