About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live a well-balanced life, always learning and finding new adventures
ABOUT ME
I love meeting new people, going new places, and doing fun things! I'm pretty adventurous and enjoy hearing the adventures of others. I believe everyone I meet shapes me in some way and is helping me to be a better person.
I believe that most people have the capacity to live wonderful lives; they just have to find what makes them happy and fulfilled - and also be courageous enough to seek that out, even it means going through some rough times.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling and will participate as needed. In the meantime, I could possibly host travelers who are coming through the Roanoke area.
Interests
I don't have much of a life right now because I'm in school full-time - It takes up most of my life, currently. But, I do like learning, and have always wanted my Ph.D. to teach higher ed., so it will (hopefully) be worth it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm all over the spectrum here - I like all kinds of books and movies and music. I try to find music to flow with my mood and usually end up listening to something folksy. I love reading graphic novels (anyone else reading Saga?), reading LOTR, and playing Skyrim. I also go to music festivals when I can!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This isn't really an "amazing thing" I have done, but my favorite traveling moment. This was when I saw the Statue of Liberty for the first time. I didn't think it would be a big deal, but when I was on the train reading a book, I looked out the window randomly and there she was, unexpectedly. I had never traveled by myself before that trip (or even been on a plane or train) so the whole experience was truly surreal. That's when I fell in love with experiencing new places by myself.
Another favorite traveling moment was kayaking the Mediterranean in Napoli, Italy. The water was crystal, and the views were something out of a dream.
Teach, Learn, Share
My resume is made up of many things. Counselor, salesperson, assistant director, brand ambassador, nanny, on and on... I don't know how much knowledge I have to impart upon people, but I know I have so much to learn. Being from a (realllly) small town can limit exposure to the world and all its great offerings. I'm broadening my horizons by learning and sharing with others.
