Exploring Europe from Dublin as a gateway. Learning French (B2 Intermediate) and planning to move to France in a few years time.

ABOUT ME

Am I a hedonistic creature of the night, or am I a polite bourgeoise academic who does nothing but sit in my study with clean floors and study all day? I don't quite know yet but I am always oscillating between those two extremes.

I've both hosted and surfed on couchsurfing. I have also used couchsurfing extensively to meet locals when traveling or moving to new countries. The exchanges have always been extremely positive.

My name is Kanika and I like conforming to stereotypes so like several other Indians, I work in technology. What seems like a long time ago, I used to teach English in Vietnam as well. I've had quite the adventure and privilege of having lived in India, Vietnam, Oman and now Ireland. I have travelled extensively in India, South East Asia, Australia, Europe, North Africa, and more recently to the USA. Needless to say, I love traveling, cultures, food and meeting new people. My hobbies almost always revolve around cycling, music, cooking, culture, and technology.

At the moment, I live in Dublin and when life allows, I like to welcome travelers in my home here. When I am unable to host, I might be able to meet up and hopefully share my knowledge of the city, learn more about other cultures and cook, eat food together :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I live with my partner Gildas in a city centre house in dublin and we may have a spare room to offer to one or two people :) We are both in our 30s and work full time jobs during the day. I am from India and Gildas is French. I am learning French and Gildas is learning Arabic at the moment. We've lived in Dublin for about five years and would love to explore more of this fair city with the shared excitement of first time visitors :)

We are also planning to move to France in a few years time so we are specially open to meeting out future friends here in Dublin and when we travel to France.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Hindi if you'd like ). I can talk endlessly about food, cuisines, cultures and technology. Also food food food.Did I not mention food? I can cook decent meals, provided I receive adequate support with preparation activities ha . If I could choose a way to die I think I'd choose 'food overdose'
