About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to be part of the solution! my logo says: "actualizing human potential"

ABOUT ME

I am an adventurous, fun loving, bold and outgoing traveler. I love to visit indigenous cultures and dislike tourist-y destinations. off the beaten track is what I love the best. I love water spots, ocean, waterfalls, lakes, rivers. just give me water and I'm in it! I love to meet new people, eat their food and enter their life. to me, that's what travel is all about.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to feel joy and to feel the fullness of every moment. I chase inspiration and joy. or I sit still and allow it to bubble up to me. I think the most important experiences in life is to feel that joy and to reach out and pass on the possibility to others!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate whole heartedly in life. I share joy and enthusiasm. I am a major networker, my joy is to bring what people need together with where those needs can be met. I give back by participating in free clinics in my area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none yet! although I know people all over the world and often stay on their couches or guest rooms. I am a lucky duck! I am going to australia in early september, and posted my desire to find a couch on a facebook site, since I didn't know about couchsurfing then. I was offered a room in an australian woman's home. So grateful for the circle of life.

Interests

I'm interested in so many things. when I go to a new country, I go to the hardware store, the health food store and the outdoor markets--I learn a lot from that. I love herbal medicines, healing traditions, and spiritual teachings from the places that I travel. I work with therapeutic essential oils and am a teacher, writer and massage therapist. I love sharing plant medicine and helping people. I love walking, hiking, camping, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, swimming. I love hot springs! spas! massages! I love art films. I love antique textiles. I love art. I love music. I love dance. I love to dance. see what I mean?

Music, Movies, and Books

I love mountain music. fiddle. I studied clogging at one point. you get the drift. I love world music, blues, classical, rock, jazz.
I like historical novels, travel memoirs and memoirs in general. I usually read text books about my field so I love to get immersed in new books that are recommended to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

recently, monhegan island in maine, which was my summer road trip this year. a few years back, nova scotia. Havasu canyon was really awesome. being with the new zealand maori's marae (community center), going through the ceremony of welcome and then breaking bread and becoming family. My travels in India, Afghanistan, Pakistan in the late 60's was truly shattering. These beautiful people taught me about gracious hospitality.
Probably my most amazing experience was the 4 years I spent from 1967 to 1971 traveling overland to india. I still have to write my memoir on that!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my knowledge of how to handle physical, mental, emotional and spiritual goals with essential oils and other modalities. I can share my love of the outdoors and show people how to float down the currents of a river, soak in a seaweed grotto or turn any beach into a spa. I can share my love of world cultures and mythologies. I would like to learn spanish! I would like to learn how to do a webinar, how to do powerpoints. I would like to learn more in general. I am a curious person.
