About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be more mindful.

ABOUT ME

I'm generally a happy and outgoing person. I've spent most of the past six years working on the charity I set up for women and children in Africa and, through this, have met some incredible, inspirational people. I am spontaneous and enjoy being around people with a sense of fun and adventure. There are so many things I want to learn about, so many places to see, so many people to meet ... however am I going to fit it all in?!

PHILOSOPHY

Never take this life for granted. Be kind to those you meet - you never know what their lives have been. Smile :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this so haven't couchsurfed yet or hosted but really looking forward to it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just on the periphery right now - but reading other's stories is wonderfully inspiring :)

Interests

Three interests that, if my friends were asked, "What are Joanna's interests?", I know they would list: photography, people and travel.

I also like reading, walking - we live close to Dartmoor and the coast. I love the sea. I love movies and music. I always sing in the shower and the car. I like cooking but am not a great cook. I play the piano but can't read music.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love films. Most recently, I watched 'The Intouchables'. Twice. It was that good. I'm not keen on sci-fi and don't like horror. I enjoy almost all forms of music from rock and pop to classical. Our book club recently read 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society' which I loved. Much more than just a book of letters.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked around Australia for three months on my own about fifteen years ago. That was an experience! My two sons survived my single parenting into adulthood which was beyond amazing - more of a miracle really ... ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

Knowing so very little I reckon I can pretty much learn from everyone I meet!
