About Me

*My reply rate isn't great because we get a lot of requests and sometimes are too busy to reply to all. Still shoot me a message I'll do my best to reply!*

ABOUT ME

I am personable, always in a good mood and have never had trouble getting on well with new people.

PHILOSOPHY

No matter where we are from we can all understand and speak the language of hospitality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf and I host! Happy to provide a bed, meal and shower for a traveler making their way around my massive country because I know I would get the same when I am the traveler.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Did a bunch of surfing and meetups in the US in 2012 which were awesome experiences. Now that I have a job tying me to one place I'm hosting people in my part of the world.

Interests

I love comedy, I love good senses of humour, I love to laugh at myself. I think laughter is one of our most magnificent qualities.

I really like to learn about people and where they come from. I ask lots of questions because I am interested in people and their stories. I am drawn to couchsurfing because of it has such an amazing potential to allow us to discover people as well as places.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Woody Allen, Judd Apatow, Pedro Almodovar.
Books: Franzen, Junot Diaz, George Orwell, Malouf, Graham Green and much more;
Music: If it can suit the setting then I can listen to anything. But I am fond of: Arcade Fire, The Knife, Radiohead, XX, Postal Service, Django Django, Belle and Sebastian, Vampire Weekend, Fleet Foxes, Seekae, Bonobo, Ballpark music, Soul music, Disco etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching a thunderstorm out the window of my flight between Hong Kong and Adelaide. The sight of balls of lighting bursting inside clouds, is a sight I can barely describe but will never forget.

Getting cheap tickets to watch Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon's Centre court in London was spectacular.

Swimming off the rocks that skirt the city walls of Dubrovnik in Croatia while the sun went down.

Four days travelling in Vietnam with a couple of Easy-riders (motorbike guides) from Dalat to Muy Nei.

In Istanbul, running along the Bosophorous while the call to prayer wafted into the evening sky from the Blue Mosque.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a nerdy streak so can help with blogs or online stuff, or any computer difficulties (although I am no expert), I want to make a career out of writing so I am always interested in exchanging thoughts on writing too.

I speak Spanish to an acceptable level, always up for practicing.
