About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Apply the idea behind couchsurfing communities to everything, everywhere.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Tali. I'm kind of new here and haven't couch surfed (yet), but a lot of my friends have. I'm interested in the dynamics of couchsurfing communities. I'm here to learn and meet awesome people. Drop me a line, I'm always happy to chat.

PHILOSOPHY

Umm... Hakuna matata?

Seriously though, this is a philosophy I borrowed from a real life story I'm fond of, about a man who traded a red paper clip for higher value items, and ended up with a house after one year. What he learned in the process was: When you have a goal, especially a crazy one, the audience and the way forward emerge as you stand up and start to do something. People want to see things happen. Especially when they can be a part of the journey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not sure yet. I'd love to attend events and meet other people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, yet.

Interests

Technology, Travel and Music. I've been many places and I enjoy expanding my list of adventures. Traveled to almost all countries in south america, lived for a couple of months in Mexico and a couple more in Costa Rica, visited at least 10 capitals or other cities in Europe, and traveled extensively through Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and both east and west cost of the US. Oh, and a short visit to Kenya. Still need to reach many parts of eastern Asia, Africa (Madagascar in particular) and see the northern lights.

Music is my passion and hobby. Technology is my passion and occupation. I live in Palo Alto at the heart of silicon valley, and trying to expand on concepts of couchsurfing and share economy into all areas of our lives.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Anything Wes Anderson

Music: The list can be long but I enjoy Jeff Buckley, Bon iver, Sting, Radiohead and lost of mainstream fun songs. I grew up on heavy metal and Jazz though.

Books: Alber Camus, Sartre, and those type of meaning seeking folks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'd say swimming with whale sharks was definitely somewhere up there. As well as climbing to a mid higher summit around mount cook area in New Zealand, one of the best places I've been to. Oh and climbing an active snow covered volcano, witnessing the spewing lava and then sliding back down on my ass was fun in Chile.
