Originally from California , now reside in Texas . The summers are so long and hot that I really need to get away every summer .

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like the idea of Couchsurfing because hotels often don't reflect the real way people live in their prospective cities .

Instead they are usually filled with fly by night tourists , business travelers or people waiting for a flight .

I would rather see how people live, work , what they eat , drink and do in their daily lives .

I offer my home to travelers who are looking for a place to rest and hope others will offer me the same .

I have no experience because I recently joined the program.
