ABOUT ME

My friends would most likely describe me as a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky person who swings from making spontaneous decisions on life-changing stuff to pondering over the little stuff for a long time..lol..

most find me very like able because i love talking and bonding with new people. talking, i have always found, helps break the ice instantly and you always end up with some great friends.

they also find my obsessive love for fiction very entertaining :) my first love, i have always maintained is a good book, the iconic characters in them and the places they have imbibed their energy from. nothing would perk me up than a thoughtfully stocked book shop or a warm cozy library :)

my buddies also constantly pull my leg about my lack of enthusiasm for dressing up but hey, i guess i am the comfy dressing type :)

i also love cooking, but more for my friends than for myself and as they always say, a way to anybody's heart is through their stomach :P

so tats me in a nutshell!

PHILOSOPHY

my life is short and hence to be lived without regrets and without sadness, i do not like the boundaries that man has created and wish the world was without these divisions. i am also a strong believer in shaping your own destiny.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i heard about couch surfing from a friend, his awesome experiences were too good to be true and i felt that i had to be a part of this community and experience it for myself. i hope to make some great friends and see some very beautiful places and memories to last me a lifetime..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

back in india, i have hosted a lot of my frnds who used to stopped by, tat was before i knew about couchsurfing, and then wen i did know about it, i felt it wud be gr88 to host ppl who r not known to me also..
i hosted my frnd annie for over 45 days and it was lovely coz we were meeting after 3 yrs..
i surfed for the first time ever in berlin and loved it :) my travel was made wonderful al coz of te wonderful host i had..
i have also been to some local city walks and meets at hague and amsterdam where i met some really nice people.. i feel so much more home at delft than before!
paris was t second place i got to meet some lovely lovely people thru my wonderful host :)

Intereses

- a beautiful book, both in cover and content would impress me instantly. I love buying books and i have already, slowly but steadily building up on that well stocked library i hope to have one day :)

- as you may have already guessed, i love reading, the preference leans heavily to fiction but i am also interested in current affairs, architecture and urbanism which is my chosen line of profession for now

- i love travelling, but i am more for the spontaneous, unplanned travel than week long deliberations on what to do an what to take.

- meeting new people and socializing, i love it that my perception and attitude to life is constantly molded by the numerous people i meet.

- i am also very much into writing and i have this yet unfulfilled ambition of penning my own novel someday :)

-Horse riding!! i am going for riding classes now and i love it a lot!its so so cool and horses r such gentle lovely animals and i recommend it to evryon :)

music - i listen to a lot of indian music, i am a lover of melodies..

-i went to auroville last year, a self sustaining community thriving with like minded individuals from different countries, near pondicherry in tamil nadu. we had stayed at a beach shack, with the sea just metres from us. the cottage was rustic, with thatched roof and bare furnishings and lizards and crows for company. since the weather was hot, we mostly slept on the balcony, with the sound of waves in our ears and the bright sun at 6 in the morning waking us up. it was sheer joy to be so one with nature those 4 days.
- europe was always my dream destination and i finally realized it this year when i secured admission for masters this year in urbanism in TU Delft in Netherlands. i went to Switzerland the first week i came for a half day. I realized my long cherished ambition of being atop the alps that day. Mountains can belittle you.. with their sheer magnum, their mystery, their timelessness and the secrets only they can know. as i stood on top and looked down at the city of lucern, i felt so small.. and also so big..

Enseña, aprende, comparte

i would love to learn new languages, specially french, spanish and italian. it would be great to learn from new friends.
i am also willing t help people improve their skills in conversational english.
since i am an avid reader, i would be able to suggest the right books to read for anyone newly introduced to the world of words.
