Starting my new life in Izmir, inhaling every bit of that 'sweet home' feeling, after almost a decade in the U.S.

ABOUT ME

This has gotta be the hardest question of all, as it's not easy for one to describe himself. But I'll give it a shot:

I lived almost 1/3 of my life in the United States, so one-third of my personality and life has been formed by American lifestyle and traditions. But I'm more Turkish than American. More truly, I am a world citizen :)

I am from the inner part of Aegean region in Turkey; I started living (mostly) away from my family since I was 14 (boarding school), studied my undergrad in Izmir, and went to the US for my MBA and then work.

I am happy to be back in Turkey and more importantly, Izmir. I'm excited to see what the life will bring me hereafter. I have certain passions and interests in my life that I will mention more below, so read on…

• Variety of cuisines. -- So far most Asian, Latin American, Italian, and American foods discovered.

• Sushi. -- Have a big passion for sushi; took classes from Sushi Institute in Little Tokyo, and make sushi for dinner gatherings with friends and family.

• Flight (Piper Warrior Private Pilot License in progress).

• Water Sports (Wake-boarding, Surfing, Sailing).

• Nutrition & Healthy Lifestyle.

• Learning about different cultures. -- Currently, a lot acquainted with American, Polish, Brazilian, Mexican cultures, and somewhat acquainted with Bulgarian, Swiss, Italian, Spanish, Iranian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Hawaiian, Hungarian, Peruvian, Colombian, German, and British cultures. All through friends, roommates, and colleagues.

Классная вещь, которую я сделал(-а)

• Sunset at The Grand Canyon (Arizona, USA)
• Surfed in Pacific Ocean nearby dolphins
• Did fly Piper Warrior airplane over San Diego
• Became obsessed with sushi, and returned from the US as a sushi-pro that makes sushi for friends & family on regular basis
• Saw sharks in the ocean and heard coastguard's warning, got out of the ocean in Daytona Beach.
• What's more amazing: I swam in that same water the night before, in dark. OK, maybe it was more stupid than amazing. The stupidity of a tourist :)

I lived in the US for over 8 years, and can teach you American English.

I can also teach Turkish. -- I volunteered in Turkish Association in Los Angeles and taught Turkish to interested American members. I am told to be a patient teacher :)

I can teach you how to make sushi, and sushi etiquette (proper way of eating sushi), if you can help me find the supplies. A little hard to find in Izmir :( :(

I would love to learn other foreign languages; Learn and celebrate other cultures' traditional days; and Learn some sports (tennis would be a good one to start with :)
