About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I got the Travel Sickness. Looking for a way to explore nearby destinations a la couch surfing.

ABOUT ME

A lover of exploration, guitar player, Archaeologist in my past life, computer guru in my current life, I have logged nearly 250,000 miles the last 2 years and have been to Russia many times, all over Western Europe, Mexico, Greece, Asia, with future trips in the works. I spend a lot of time in Moscow and it's grown on me to become one of my favorite cities. I have a 6 year old son who I have half time. I am an easy guest and I'm happy to participate and help in whatever way I can and insist on pulling my weight in everything. I stay out the way but I'm not shy. I don't need babysitting and have sufficient funds to stay in hotels I just prefer making connections and friendships and creating positive energy. I like to help and have no issues being put to work as long as it's part of the deal.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short and I never considered myself one to sit idly by and let it fly past me. In some ways that's happened as finding success led to a comfort zone I can't say I'm 100% comfortable with. I was Vegetarian for 8 years, didn't drive a car for nearly 10 years of my adult life, and have ridden my bike nearly 20000 miles. I worked in Archaeology in Arizona, Italy, Mexico, and all over the USA but since moving to the Midwest my life changed and my experiences have grown fewer and far between. It's time to get out an experience life more not in exotic locations but in meeting exotic, new and interesting people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am open to spend time with the host but it's not always necessary. I'm in it more for the experience and because I love meeting people and crossing paths with old friends like I did when I would travel more with friends and meet people on the road of life. I have a good income, good car, a 6 year old son, and way too much to lose to do anything silly. Only looking for a place to crash but generally not just a place to crash, more for the potential for an experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I grew up Couch Surfing, staying in Hostels in the 3rd world, crashing in a lazy boy for the night. I'm easy like that BUT this website I am new to. For these reasons I will always be a kind and considerate guest, always happy to help in whatever way I can. I don't mind doing dishes and I can cook some mean Mexican food.

Interests

Travel, Adventure, beverages, guitars(I own many), have owned more than 40 motorcycles, scuba, Amsterdam ;), and of course good food!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything I can jam to, I like everything from Hardcore punk to Jazz, Acid/House/Techno, ethnic, German and French hiphop, you name it. Movies I can say I like anything that's just not depressing or about kids or animals being hurt.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Greece is freaking amazing. Seeing the Isle of Rhodos and traveling in Peloponnese. I also managed many Archaeological projects on 3 continents, Mayan, Roman, SW USA.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lots of things to teach :) Guitar, Bass, Audio Recording, Software development, web design, marketing, business development, Archaeology, photography, digital editing, movie making, swimming, free diving, astronomy, hmm running out now ;)

To learn and share it's really infinite. I am a cosmic knowledge sponge :D
