About Me

CURRENT MISSION

adventure!

ABOUT ME

I have noticed that it is quite common for people in my area to stay in this place their whole lives. I once met a girl who had never crossed the bridge to leave Monroe! Some people are happy with this, as for me... there is a big world out there, with lots of cool people, and I want to explore it! I am very liberal and socially conscious. I want to find a way to make a difference in a few people's lives. I have found that my biggest regrets in life are the opportunities that I passed up and the dreams I didn't pursue. *update: I am in the process of moving to Seattle. I am flying out at the beginning of January.*

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is best expressed with three of my favorite quotes
"The grass is greener where you water it." -unknown

"Tell me what it is you plan to do with you one wild and precious life." -Mary Oliver

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it you will be lonely often and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."- Nietzsche

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Nobody Rides for Free by John Francis Hughes(an excellent book for any adventurer); Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert(another great book for adventurers), The Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are by Alan Watts, Crime and Punishment, A Tale of Two Cities, and the list goes on and on...

Movies: To Catch a Thief, Life is Beautiful(La Vita E Bella), Hitman, Fight Club, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Skeleton Key, A Beautiful Mind, The Dark Knight, Donnie Darko, The Matrix...

Music: very eclectic taste in music. I tend to like individual songs more than I am loyal to particular bands/artists, but some of my favorite artists are Alanis Morissete, Tori Amos, Madeline Peyroux, Storm Large, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Matchbox Twenty, Anna Nalick, Bob Marley, Alison Krauss, Florence+The Machines...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sat by Penobscot River in Maine for hours just reflecting on my life. I gained calmness and peace by watching the river and the environment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a bit about mythology, crafting, and various other random things.
I would like to learn more about all of these things. Also, I would like to learn about other beliefs and cultures. I would like to become a better chess player. Honestly, I want to dabble in just about everything. I love to learn.
