About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hosting travelers, raising a family, protecting Washington's water. We host longer term stays through the AWESOME network, HelpX.net.

ABOUT ME

Fun, adventurous, a good friend. My friends would say "You are unique and inspiring, and I am blessed to have you in my life." I'm very down to earth and easy going and grateful. I am full of Life and strive towards Buddhahood.

PHILOSOPHY

Since change is always a constant, we must appreciate the time we spend with one another and never take anyone or anything for granted.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am open to hosting 1-2 nights as I have settled down and bought a bit of property in the Pacific Northwest. In the past, I have met people for social get togethers, hiking in the Himalayas, and surfed only 2 times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Currently:
I have been getting a ton of requests to host. At the moment, I do not want to host unless you can contribute some food for dinner or be more self sufficient. I feel like my generosity is being taxed. So, come, but, please be willing to help out in some way. Thanks for understanding. :)

Previously:
I met a wonderful woman via CS to trek in the Himalayas. It was a perfect match! So much fun! In Dubai, I couch surfed, again another positive experience. In Greece, and I met up for social gatherings and a day hike with locals and another traveler.

Interests

Hiking, camping, singing with others!, learning about educational systems (and how best to improve them), cooking vegetarian meals, contra dancing, aerial performance, playing my fiddle, meditation, smiling, practising martial arts, bicycling for commuting, fixing cars and bikes. I love to be in the Mountains.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Ishmael, 8 steps to happiness, Emotional Intelligence, Why Nations Fail
Films: Harold and Maude, The Lion King, Catch Me if you Can
Music: ohhh...lots of different kinds of music: Froutet, Ani Defranco, Tool, The Beattles, Brazilian acoustic, African pop...songs I can sing along with...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmmmm...I hitch hiked across Brazil when I was 19. Was also invited to be a 2nd wife of a Brazilian Indian chief and live with him in his tribe (I gracefully declined). I have reunited 2 families. I was illegally arrested with Starhawk (the author) at a world bank/IMF protest in Washington DC. I have had such a full life...some people call me inspiring, and its hard to narrow down to just a few things here. Im "awestruck" and Amazed weekly if not daily by the people I meet, what I learn...its not all about where we've been, but who we are and what we took from a particular experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A simple home, 2 couches, rustic conditions. We can show you around Olympia (Oly) if we have the time/energy, take you to meditations at Buddhist Centers, Quaker Meetings, or a Saturday night contra dance. Help us cook a meal and share some dinner (bring some ingredients to add, please). :)
