To empower, encourage and help those I cross paths. To live life based on healthy values and morals. To hold integrity towards my cause and to serve humanity to the best of my abilities. To stay in constant growth, leading myself and in turn leading others.
ABOUT ME

I'm ME, an outgoing, creative, active person who will be found always pushing his boundaries on what is possible. I am legally blind as of 2018. I am a West Coast Swing dancer, teacher, and event coordinator in the kelowna area. I volunteer as an ambassador, a peer support fascilitator. I am part of a collage committee to add accessibility to the post secondary schools to work with vision impaired students and an advocacy committee to push accessibility in communities. On top of this I run my own business, focused towards self growth, self empowerment and leadership, for myself and in turn, for others.
Lead through example, we have the ability to do ar more than we believe we can.
Before vision loss, I have spent years traveling. New Zealand, Australia, South-East Asia, Europe and parts of the states and mexico.
Today I dance, run, hike, kayak, paddle board, and free dive as leasure activities. Choose to live proactive life, taking care of the body and it takes care of me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first joined couchsurfing back in 2007, giving the opportunity to meet and share stories with the locals of new zealand and australia. Go off the beaten track of tourism and choose to do what the locals see value in. Share great times and eat great food, and due to the areas, usually involving some beaches.

I love supporting culture, giving people opportunities to see what the city I live in has to offer and giving travelers the abilitiy to not just be a tourist, but be a local in a warm and welcoming community.

-Had a documentary done about my life (luke jukes on youtube) which aired across canada on television in August 2021 before moving to youtube

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to tons of music of all genres, West Coast Swing follows pop music culture, but I also love finding underground bands to throw into dj music sets to throw a twist into the typical dance nights.

Currently more focused towards books designed towards self development and mind growth.
Rich dad, poor dad. Atomic Habits. Infinite Game. Boundaries. Mindset. These are just a few. The ability to read in 500 pages what some have studied for years to learn

Anything I know is yours to learn. I myself, have a thirst for knowledge, love learning and pushing my own boundaries.
I teach dance and always happy to share this as it definitely is my passion on the side of what I do.
