***Status Update***Hiatus
I suppose everything in life has a start and an end. I've been in Couchsurfing for almost ten years and met a lot of wonderful people, some of which even became lifelong friends. However the site is now completely different, and I have long lost any enthusiasm I had in older times. I will keep this profile around in case I change my mind in the future, also in order to retain the beautiful words by people who were kind enough to write about me, but I am currently out of the game. Happy surfing! : )

ABOUT ME:

I'm a guy who likes to travel and meet people from different countries. Born and raised in Athens, I've lived in Portugal, Holland, Ireland, Wales and Sweden, and only just now giving old Dublin another go.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to have as much fun as I can in my lifetime, trying at the same time to give love to my loved ones, good company to my liked ones, and, well, at least not annoy the rest :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly as a host, although I do like to join the occasional CS party when I'm feeling social. I've only been a guest myself a few times, but every single one of them was lovely (sincere thank yous to Annalise, Zoe, Paddy & Saskia, Anna M and Suzie)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been a campleader and volunteer in numerous occasions in the past, so I meet loads of people from different countries. A good amount of times I've had the pleasure of hosting people staying for a few nights in Athens, even before my couchsurfing days. Also done my fair share of couch-hosting ever since.

Centres d'intérêt

Free time activities include basically going out to places with nice music and watching films at home or at the theater. During summertime I also enjoy the occasional walk, by day or by night, preferably with good company. Oh, I also love eating at nice, though not necessarily fancy places.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Favourite directors are David Lynch and Terrence Malick. I enjoy good cinema in general. Music is quite varied, but mostly pop & rock & electronica, with a little bit of soundtracks and jazzy tunes. Books, I have a soft spot for horror dudes Clive Barker and Stephen King and whodunnit detective stuff from the likes of Ruth Rendell and Ian Rankin. My guilty pleasure is Bret Easton Ellis, and I also enjoy authors like Julian Barnes, Stephen Fry, Michael Crichton and Jonathan Franzen.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I will always remember very fondly the innocence of people living in small villages in Greece and Italy. You have to be there to experience it, it's so hard to describe using a keyboard. Also, Croagh Patrick in Ireland.
