About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Witness England win the World Cup

ABOUT ME

I'm a solicitor from Birmingham and, at the time of updating my profile, I live in this great (albeit much maligned) city. However, I have a one-way flight to Vancouver in August for the next adventure. My plan is to move to Trinidad & Tobago but will spend some time travelling beforehand.

I love all sports, in particular football and cricket. I've recently taken up boxing and my first fight in June. Music is another passion of mine and I try to play the guitar when I get time.

PHILOSOPHY

Pure water has no fish

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have actively participated in Couchsurfing since 2011 when I moved into a house in Bristol with four friends from school. We hosted surfers from all over the world nearly every weekend.

I lived in Houston for a four months and made a lot of friends through the Couchsurfing meet-ups. After my stay in Houston I embarked on a road-trip around Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas and Couchsurfed for the entire trip.

Since moving back to Birmingham, I have continued to host, although due to work commitments not with the regularity that I used to.

Off the top of my head, I have hosted Australians, Italians, French, English, Dutch, Germans, Spanish, Egyptians, Austrians, Polish, Czechs, New Zealanders, Canadians, Americans, Norwegians and Finns. I am sure there is more.

I have never had a bad experience with Couchsurfing. I've had some quirky experiences and some truly memorable experiences - I'm not short of stories. I am a huge advocate of Couchsurfing and intend to stay involved as long as the site is running.

Music, Movies, and Books

Blues, funk, brass bands and drum n bass

The stones are my favourite band. Muddy Waters, Albert, Freddie and BB King, Black Keys, Friction, Serial Killaz (bad boys)

Movies - anything involving the subject of drugs and gangs (I'm not a drug dealer or a gangster).

Books - tend to read/listen to fiction. Enjoy sporting autobiographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When Martin "Sniffo" Robbins took to the stage in the 'Love Shack' nightclub, Edinburgh, during the city's Hogmannay celebrations and performed a dance of grace, poise and originality. The dance was easy on the eye and captivated the entire dance floor into following his every move.

Genuinely inspiring and one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed.
