About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Constantly evolve into someone better

ABOUT ME

I am Omar, born and raised in Mexico City. Although I find the importance on describing one´s self, I find it a little bit of a cliché as well; however, I will give it a try. In general, I like languages, long interesting conversations, going around without a specif plan, try new things and learn as much as I can. I am a pragmatic rather than a "by the book"kind of person, or at least I try to be.
I like spending my time reading a good book, watching a good film or tv series, or just going somewhere I hadn´t been before.
In the end, just as any other human being, I am constantly evolving but remain with my personal essence.

PHILOSOPHY

Experience, learn and share as much as possible, anytime, anywhere and with the most people I can.
The greatest gift of human beings is their diversity; that uniqueness that makes us individuals.
The worst word I´ve learnt so far in any language is fear; not because of the word itself, but because it seems to be sight-blinding, causing harm to diversity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host people every once in a while if it is possible and sometimes meet people from the CS community for all kind of different stuff. I talk about the website with people interested in the project.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A friend of mine told me about hospitalityclub, which I joined. Later on that website, I found a very dear friend of mine who told me about couchsurfing, and here I am...

I had my first couchsurfer guests during the Eurocup 2008 when I was living in Salzburg. It was a nice experience hosting people. Now, I host some more people in Mexico city and I get in touch with other people from CS when I get to travel.

In general, my experience has been positive. I have met amazing people and plan to remain a couchsurfer forever.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Found out how generous and giving people can be with strangers. Actually, that´s something Couch Surfing taught me. And as a friend says: Life is a helping chain!
