About Me

Recently relocated back to Indianapolis. I live in a small 1 bedroom near downtown. Lots of public transit within 2-5 blocks, 2 miles from downtown circle, very bikeable.

While I've hosted lots, I've drifted from CS over the last few years as I thought it lost it's way. And was unable to host for awhile due to my housing situation. I'm almost able to host again, once I get my new housing situated and get some furniture.

I'm a meat eater and I share the apartment with a meat eating cat.

***Do NOT send me a friend request if you do NOT know me!!! This is NOT Facebook. I know all of those friends I have listed. I've met them in person, worked with them long-term, or know them well. If you just found me, I do NOT know you; Yet. Let's meet and change that.***

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain

ABOUT ME

I love to meet other CouchSurfers and show them my city, as long as they are willing to tell me their stories! I've been around here awhile so I have little time for folks just looking for a free bed. They're just not that smart to realize that what this site used to offer was Free Friendships with their couch thrown in for free. A two-fer! So, if you're just looking for a place to sleep, move on. If not, read, please!

I am NOT INTERESTED IN ANYONE WHO JUST NEEDS A PLACE TO CRASH WITHOUT PUTTING FORTH AN EFFORT AT FRIENDSHIP.

I'm usually flexible with my schedule and can show you around town. I'm a non-cigarette smoker. I'm a social drinker and have a 215 recommendation for 420 (California-only, unfortunately), and use it when I'm legally able. If this paragraph doesn't make sense to you, that's OK, you don't need to worry with it.

I'm friendly, sarcastic, outgoing, and willing to help those willing to help themselves. If you're willing to do the work, I'm willing to help you out. I am a smart ass, and my humor runs from the highbrow to the gutter.

I have a cat; a big male Siamese purr machine named Morpheus. When my couch is Available or Maybe, you'll want to read the entire "Couch Information" section. Please. There may be a quiz! If I have No Couch Available, I have no couch available. However, if you know me, or are a friend of a CSer I know, send me a message. I may know a place.

"A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a hostile world. Everyone you meet is your mirror." ~ Ken Keyes, Jr.'Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.' ~ Mark Twain

MY PHILOSOPHY

If you claim to be Christian, then be Christ-like. Christ would not have asked the leper for his insurance card and a co-pay. I'm an atheist who has little time for prayer and imaginary friends.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

I live and let live. Until you come after me or one of my tribe members.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love hosting and surfing, in that order. I love to put together local gatherings, mentor, and share what I've learned. I used to know the site well. Now, I do not, but I'm relearning. Today's CS is not the CS I'm used to and enamored with. Hopefully that'll change again, soon.

I have volunteered with the following teams (*Please note these teams may no longer exist or things that could be done may not be do-able anymore):
- Team Member and Team Leader; Verification/Donations Team - Team Member and Co-Team Leader; Help Desk (We answer the "Contact Us" inquiries)
- Team Member; (Special) Bugs Operations Team - we're the Bugs team, and we're just special!
- Beta Tester (wanna know what's coming to your screen soon???? Not gonna tell!)
- New Member Welcome (Everyone needs a little love!)
- Event Messaging Approval (we approve invitations for your events. Didn't know you could invite folks? Now you do!)
- Ambassador (I sleep around, a lot, so I know the site! Need help? Ask! )
- Ambassador Mentor (loved mentoring the new Ambs... hope this comes back!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Wow! I have had great experiences so far in meeting new folks hosting and surfing! I continue to be amazed. I run into folks from around the world who know friends that I met through CouchSurfing as well. The world really is small! I've always been fortunate to have great friends. Currently, about 1/2 of my best and good friends I met through CouchSurfing!

Interests

Road trips, new dining experiences, technology, traveling, learning more about myself, volunteering, HTML, reading, friends, family, dancing, walking, getting fitter and healthier, music, movies, exploring and learning more about my city, walking the trails and paths, giving/exchanging massages, and playing cards (Spades, Rook, etc.). I also enjoy board games such as Scrabble and I even like Charades. I love Cards Against Humanity. :D

I believe in volunteering as a way to give back to the community. I am a former volunteer with the American Red Cross on the Disaster Action Team. I now volunteer as an Amtrak Station Host at our Transit Center, work at the GLBT Community Center and enjoy doing lots more!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a wide variety of movies, music and books. My tastes range from, "OMG, you MUST see this!" to, "I know. Don't judge me."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been blessed with so many amazing friends and family... Over 50% of my BEST FRIENDS in the WORLD I met through this site, so my standards for fun and frivolity are pretty high!

I moved to Chico, CA to live with my Verifications Team Leader and one of my best friends, now. Forever. I live with a fellow CSer I met through a CS meet-up now, in Indianapolis.

We still host monthly get-togethers. Come, join us.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share my city, my local expertise, and to learn about others. I hate "touristy" places.

I'd love to learn to be a better photographer with my digital camera... my photos usually turn out too dark. :( Help? See some of the Photos I've taken.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughter. Stories. Local places to visit and see. Must-dos. Don't do's.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
