About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I don't know if I'd call it a mission, but i'm setting out to discover new opportunities, converse with new characters, and to experience new ways of living on our planet, all the while documenting what I learn along the way.

ABOUT ME

I used to wish that I had been born in an era when cutting all our ties with society and adopting a nomadic lifestyle was a practical way to build a life for oneself. Then I realized that the world is more accessible than ever before, and with a little creativity and a lot of luck I could be a modern-day Magellan, so why just daydream my life away when I could make my wishes a reality? I didn't have an answer, so here we are.

I was born and raised in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. I grew up in the Redwood forest and on the beaches of Santa Cruz, and for as long as I can remember the outdoors have served as a both a frontier brimming with adventure and a refuge from the monotony of daily life. Exploration and adventure are what my mind and spirit yearn for, and I won't cease my pursuit of new experiences until my body crumbles beneath me.

That being said, I also find it equally important to slow down and appreciate the environments around me. We enrich our lives with the people and things around us for a reason, and I like to reflect on the world just outside my window. When it rains, I am just as inhibited sprinting through the downpour as I am content sitting by the fire with a cup of tea.

My passions include nature, reading and storytelling, travel, sports, ecology, cartography, photography, music, and food.

PHILOSOPHY

Think critically. Explore relentlessly. Appreciate frequently.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to CS, but I'm eager to begin establishing a name for myself within this community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept upon many a couch, and my couches have oft been slept upon, but I'm quite green amongst the ranks of this community.

Interests

This is an extremely tasking prompt. I am interested in being intrigued, so i believe that anything with the capacity to captivate is worth my while. I like landscapes and wildlife, but cityscapes and people have their place as well.

I also have a new found love for the sport of Ultimate and the community that supports it. I started playing in 2010 and fell in love almost immediately. I was a three-sport athlete in High School (Football, Lacrosse, Soccer) and spent many years playing basketball and baseball, but never have I enjoyed a sport quite as much as I do Ultimate. If you've never tried it, you should consider checking it out.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Fox and The Hound. This movie made me who I am today.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I witnessed the inauguration of Barack Obama in person from the National Mall in Washington DC my senior year of high school with two of my closest friends at the time. The entire trip was remarkable, but that morning will be a memory frozen in time for the rest of my life.
