À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Work hard, play harder, stay positive, travel responsibly, be aware environmentally

ABOUT ME

Started backpacking in college and have been to a couple of places in China before 1st overseas trip to Jejudo, South Korea, where I had a great time.

I'm thankful for having those travelling experiences, which transformed me from a merely tourist into a responsible backpacker, who's gradually becoming a genuine traveler.

Experiencing local life, respecting local people, culture and custom, meeting local people and fellow travelers, last but not least, staying green and as less carbon footprint as possible are what a genuine traveler is all about from my perspective.

For the above, only working hard and playing harder will do.

PHILOSOPHY

Luxurious products are something pricey and you can put a price tag on, while happiness is the only thing both inexpensive yet priceless.

Simply, I'm not a luxury brand kinda person but a "rich" curious traveler.

Work hard for savings (not so much so far though), play harder for living.

Not aiming to change the world, but do my own part to do good to people and the world.

Centres d'intérêt

Travelling for sure comes up first.

As a quality foodie as I am, eating around is not able to meet my demands any more, LOL. Making my own dishes and keeping learning cooking seem the only way out for a desirable foodie ;).

When it comes to eating, cooking and having fun at the same time, potluck is definitely second to none.

For my favourite sport, swimming is. A great way to stay fit ;), although hv gained quite a lot of weight ; ( lately.

Seeing movies, NOT ONLINE, inspires me in many ways. Personally think movies should always be seen in cinema, otherwise there wouldn't be a real movie experience. Seeing over the Internet really kills the whole ambiance.

Collecting tips of household wisdom to recycle and save energy in daily life might not be able to change the whole world but at least I can make my own little contribution as I'm one of the "villagers" the earth village, as simple as it is.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

The 2 mosques in BSB, the capital of Brunei, stunned me. Without a doubt the tasteful interior wowed every visitor. But the real jaw-dropping are the domes which are made of gold. And the magnificent sunset after a whole day of rain.

Can't help thinking another "amazing" thing that I've done in Jejudo, Korea. It was a small Ramen stall and I was the only guest. Since the shop owner, a very polite and kind lady, and I had the language barrier that we both didn't speak either Korean or Chinese, we had problem ordering food. After a bunch of guessing and body languages, she came up an idea and called her daughter. Turns out, surprisingly, her daughter was a flight attendant who spoke Chinese! What a coincidence. Then I was finally able to order a Ramen. It was great, by the way. However, after I finished the noodle, the embarrassment came that I didn't have enough money for the bill, O.M.G. couldn't be more embarrassed. Although the kind-hearted lady settled on all I got, I insisted to pay her back the other day even she resisted. That was my first overseas experience about the kindness of strangers.

Oh, there's one more, paper making out of elephant poo. Not joking. There's an elephant orphanage in Pinnawala, Sri Lanka. The staff raised fund for the orphanage by making paper this way. After a few steps in the process, the fiber was taken out and disinfected. That's the material for making paper. There're products like notebooks, post-its, calendars, gift cards and other similar commodities.

I've seen the bamboo process and was stunned by this way. It's not that disgusting as you thought, although the idea is astonishing. Well, it's environmentally friendly after all.

The 4-day-3-night trip to North Korea is so incredibly and horribly memorable.
