About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Loving to spread the Pay It Forward vibe while...intending to be documenting more of my travels these days...or that I always say it is a good idea but then get wrapped up in the travels having great times with the people I meet...I lose track of that par

ABOUT ME

My name is C.J. Half Italian, half French, I have brown hair. The color of my eyes is brown. My mom grew up on Cape Cod, I got a "Mom" tattoo on my left arm when I lived in Puerto Rico. Two seasons I went to to Florida to work for Walt Disney World. Second time working in Disney I moved to Kissimmee after season. Costa rican people taught me how to prioritize needs/wants when they had an 8 foot flood in one city I visited, They picked up pieces and kept living, singing at church, playing soccer, catching fish and fiests with friends. Although the surf was good there, I didn't get on a board until a good friend (kite-board master) decided to teach me enough to fly. Since high school, I have alternated traveling with university studied and have not had network/cable television in my home, except one year my roommate had cable. Painting, sculpting, printmaking, I love to make art, learn new art. I just learned a simple stitch with crochet. I play some piano, like to sing sometimes favorites in Karaoke. I've done every type of work from stuffy office work to picking oranges with Hispanics in Florida. Life is fun :)

PHILOSOPHY

Pay It Forward, Love

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sometimes my couch is open, other times I am traveling. Leave things slightly better than when you got there is always good. I like to help out when I can with cleaning, help with errands, cooking, something to be exchanging value, to show thanks... add value by helping around the house, help running errands. I am flexible on the dates. I have experience cooking in many restaurants, construction, landscaping. ESL tutoring too. Thank you!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First in 1999, made friends on chatrooms that hosted (not organized site like this)...friends who lived along route from Massachusetts to San Diego. Since then it has been both hosting and traveling from and to different areas, also local friends surf, friends of friends traveling,

Music, Movies, and Books

For Music, I have tons of favorites in every genre, while 90% of the time I listen to classical to let my imagination do what it wants (since it does follow story lines and lyrics when they are in songs. Everything from heavy metal, some rap, ska, punk, Latin, jazz, blues, folk rock, 311, Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, Indigo Girls, Brian Seltzer, Stray Cats, Meatloaf, Guns'n'Roses, Frank Sinatra, Metalica, so much to list.

Movies: Pink Panther, Step Brothers, Borat, Wedding Crashers, Like water from chocolate, Chasing Amy,

Books: On the Road Jack Kerouac, Eckard Tolle, Tao of Pooh

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Am usually amazed/inspired to see selfless acts of love, generosity, reminding me the priorities in life (I looked up real acts of Pay It Forward around the world). I once saw a street performer balance a shopping cart on his chin. I saw a 4X4X4 foot cube of pins at the ICA that was pretty impressive.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have taught social dynamics, also dream catching aspiration fulfillment, dancing, ESL, English tutor for composition. When I went to Costa Rica, I helped with roofing learning the differences in construction I already knew from working in construction crew, to roofing with palm leaves. I have worked as chef in many restaurants, wash dishes, waiter, host dinner parties. I have experience landscape, lifeguard, drawing, painting (both artistic and residential), sculpture, silkscreen, basic piano, photography, work study at Ananda Ashram, building maintenance, apartment manager assistant, some office work, fitness center, Walt Disney World, camping and survival skills, fishing, clamming, old school soldering circuitry, public relations,
