About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To teach the world that a kiwi isn't just a fruit

ABOUT ME

“A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing. - Emo Philips

Anywhere you go in the world you will find a New Zealander or two, there are not many of us but we travel a lot. I like to meet to people from different places and tell them all about my country that is full of Hobbits, rugby players, open spaces and celebrity sheep (i'm not joking about that last one).
I am now living in Shanghai, a place that is in a lot of ways the polar opposite of New Zealand, but still a great place to be. Fun place and I enjoy showing fellow travellers the best places to see 45 year old men dancing on the top of bars and buy deep fried chicken on the side of the road.

PHILOSOPHY

Hmmm don't know if i'm ready to answer this one, those first few paragraphs took a lot out of me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have done a lot of traveling, was roaming around Europe last year and loved it. More stationary currently, but still like to be a part of the traveler community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to couchsurfing, but offering the best couch in Shanghai. It's a fiery attention-grabbing red with a hint of coffee stain. Innersprung base offers the perfect mix of yield and firmness which will result in a sleep that in only two days will add years to your life. I've never looked under it, but I assume it is something like that.

Interests

Traveling, hiking, swimming, tennis, reading (Irvine Welsh is my favorite author, other favorite books are Captain Correlli's Mandolin, Poisonwood Bible) movies, ....I could write a lot more

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A lot, I enjoyed places in Europe like Italy and Greece very much. Our recorded history in NZ is very short, so I have always been interested in old places and stories. So in NZ we have avoided being invaded, but on the negative side we have to learn about NZ history in class and it is very very boring. Because not much really happened.
Also, and this will be the last thing I say about NZ in this profile, some of the hikes in NZ in the south, through the mountains are really amazing.
