ABOUT ME

My name 's Rob from Sydney, Australia. I'm a New South Welshman born and bred, I've traveled all over my home state & Australia. I've lived both the city & the country life, I'm not torn either way somewhere in-between; enjoying the challenges & tribulations of the gypsy lifestyle.

I've done my service for my country, my new passion in life is serving in the Hospitality industry, best career path for traveling & meeting new people along the way. Spontaneously deciding to give up everything & just travel... no problem, it's opened my eyes to seeing the beauty of the rest of the world outside my own country. Expanding my horizons, whilst learning & meeting people all along the way... the best experience.

Social Chameleon, people I meet say I'm: open & respectful, whilst still remaining down-to-earth. Fun & easy going, adventurous & up for a challenge. I'll give anything a go, what's life without a few risks :) I put my own flavour & positive spin on things. Life, It's the longest thing we'll ever do, but I don't wish to squander my time on this beautiful rock, make the most of this existence.

PHILOSOPHY

'Work to live, don't live to work'... get out there amongst it :) Do something with your life that makes you happy :) Anything, it doesn't have to make you alot of money... as life, travel & experience will take care of the rest.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I always like to bring something to the table besides my company & conversation. It could be food, could be wine; it could even be a special request like giving you a hand, picking something up, or doing chores.

I enjoy networking, events, festivals, hanging-out/meet-ups; meeting strangers ending up as friends. I'm gregarious, & made some pretty descent friendships along the way... you just never know who you'll meet, & what effect they'll have on your life... as I've found out :)

I'm not returning home anytime soon, so you're welcome to tag along with me; sharing the road-less-traveled. We can split the costs "Even Stevens', or if I've got a spare space at wherever I'm staying at,you're welcome to fill the spot; as it's already paid for, no skin off my nose :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Mainly Positive, it takes all types to make the world go round... we're all just characters, starring in the same stage play called 'Life'. I'm always gracious to my generous host, & willing to meet people & make new friends. Not know where you'll be, or who you'll meet next keeps you on-your-toes, & adds a bit of excitement & challenge in life.

When things don't pan-out, yeah it sucks & you feel disheartened... but don't despair, you'll eventually get there. For just over the horizon, waiting patiently... is your next great adventure with a whole bunch of interesting others, & new experiences a-plenty.

Getting my PADI Open Water Divers Certification. It's like inner space, as close as we'll get to being an Astronaut, but on this good, green Earth.

I can teach you some 'Australianisms' of... 'She'll be right mate', 'It can only get better from here', 'Adapt & overcome', 'Fear is only a four letter word' :)

Each & everyone of us can always do with learning a little bit more patience, grace & humility for what we have on this rock... be less materialistic

I like to rid myself of excess, live free & happy, as I don't need too much baggage. I'll give you the shirt off my back, especially if you're in more need of it than me... I've literally done this lol :) We all wanna let go & just go with the flow, so don't sweat the small stuff :)

If you can't share the tangible, share the love P.L.U.R. Raver principle, Peace, Love, Unity, & Respect, simple really. Do it willingly & with all your heart, & watch the doors fly open, karma. Random acts of kindness, no problem... it takes nothing to show a little gratitude for peoples generosity & spirit :)
