About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To take my sketchbook to make art as I travel up Norway.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Melbourne but have always treated this city as an unknown space in need of exploring.

I connect to new places through making art, sketching and exploring the natural landscapes. There is nothing I love more than being in and surrounded by giant mountains.

I'd say I'm a somewhat unconventional traveller, its easy to see a place, harder but more fulfilling to know it through it's people.

I try to give as much as I take when I'm travelling.

I love cooking for people, sharing my stories, I'm one of life's great story collectors. I currently work at the Botanic Gardens in Melbourne, Australia. I have a large passion connecting people to the outdoors, making art with others and enjoying the wonders of nature. Working with children and the outdoors is a very big privilege.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am much more likely to request a couch by looking at the profiles rather than the place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am fairly new to Couch Surfing, but have informally surfed kind people's couches. After I completed high school, I travelled around Europe for 9 months and stayed with a variety of people and families, usually friends of friends along the way.

Interests

I am a walker and will always take the opportunity to explore a new place on foot. I enjoy being in cities and being far away from them in the wilderness. I also enjoy creating something from nothing. I like painting, printmaking, photography, crocheting and collecting old, unique and interesting things. I enjoy art galleries, traditional and contemporary. I love to try new foods and flavours, and cook myself. I search for the unexpected and when travelling, some of the best things are the surprises. and I dance, oh how I dance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I tried to walk from Germany from Switzerland and of course I got lost along the way. I had to go into a petrol station and ask "Excuse me, which way is Germany?" Amused and slightly confused as why I was trying to find a country on foot, the young man directed me in the right direction. I got there eventually, explored for a while and then headed back when I realised I didn't have any of the correct currency...
