About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live a balanced life, learn to salsa, re-organize closet!

ABOUT ME

The travel bug has got me again so I'll be off to Eastern Europe with a friend for a couple of weeks followed by a month in China for an elective through my medical school. Before going to med school I worked in fashion and design in NYC for a few years (an unbelievable experience and totally well worth the detour before settling into my love of medicine). I live in Queens, NY with my husband and 3 plants - all 4 are doing very well :)

PHILOSOPHY

"One of the new things people began to find out in the last century was that thoughts - just mere thoughts - are as powerful as electric batteries - as good for one as sunlight is, or as bad for one as poison. To let a sad thought or a bad one get into your mind is as dangerous as letting a scarlet fever germ get into your body. If you let it stay there after it has got in you may never get over it as long as you live".
-Francis H. Burnett

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When surfing, I will respect your home like it is mine. I might be what you'd call a "neat freak" so my home is SPOTLESS. You can eat off of my floor (but you shouldn't). Will bring my own blanket and towels. Would love to learn as much as I can about your city and culture... if you have time to hang out, all the better!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to couchsurfing and it sounds like a great way to meet new friends while traveling.

Interests

Delicious food, good wine, sunday brunches, cooking without using a recipe, snorkeling in a sparkling blue sea, being better to nature and our environment, trying new things, painting

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm streaming movies all the time, nothing that pops into my head right now, but love Quentin Tarantino films. Oh one of my favorite movie is a french comedy "Le dîner de cons"/ "The Dinner Game".

Music - rock, 90's R&B/Hip Hop, On my pandora stations: Metallica, The Postal Service, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, classical, Scott D. Davis, opera, jazz... everything!

Books - Kindle, where have you been all my life?? I've downloaded a bunch of classics on kindle because they are all FREE muahahha. Reading "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" right now.
Next on my reading list: "Anna Karenina", "The House of God", "How Doctors Think", "A People's History of the United States", "The Road to Serfdom", "The Shoemaker's Wife" and "Rick Steve's Eastern Europe" ;)
For a quick read I would recommend Edwin A. Abbott's "Flatland, A Romance of Many Dimensions", it's a satirical science/mathematical fiction about multiple dimensions of space.
"Gone with the Wind", "Picture of Dorian Gray" are some of my favorites.
