About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To leave familiarity behind

ABOUT ME

Self-described eccentric wanderer looking for good Samaritans to grant me safe lodgings!

I am a student at NYU looking to travel a lot more. Although that sounds pretty hackneyed in itself, I'm looking to add more "agency and urgency" to my own life, that is, become more independent while having meaningful experiences along the way. What constitutes a meaningful experience?

PHILOSOPHY

42.

Although I could spend pages and pages rambling on about this, I feel like the best thing to do...is to do. I've been told I think too much, that I get lost in my own thoughts of "what if?" and "Why?" So, with traveling, I hope I can put more action into my life and actually have something to say when I talk!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am hoping to participate by starting to surf. I'm a student using uni housing, so hosting may not be an option now...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None...hopefully I can get some soon! *HINT HINT*

Interests

"Traveling! And other things...better to talk in detail!"

Yeah, that was my original tagline in "interests" and I only just now realized how creepy that sounded. I'm interested in meeting new people, and as hackneyed as that sounds, I think meeting new people abroad or at least way outside my current circle of friends is the best way for me to go about the world. Because who wants more of what they already have?

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything mythological really. Occasionally, people will mistake me for being proselytizing when I gush about the Ramayana or some parts of the Bible...

I also love Loreena Mckinnett to death.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I ever think I've done is take the subway system in Taipei alone when I was 15. It was the first time I ever went out alone or even used subway transport on my own. Although there are definitely couchsurfers out ther who probably lived in foreign countries alone while they were still toddlers, I still regard it as a formative experience.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, France, Taiwan, United States
