About Me

ABOUT ME

The instructions for the basic information told me that this is my chance to make a good first impression and to stand out in the crowd. Well...I am only about 5'4" so rarely stand out in any crowd, unless I am home with my family or again in Beijing. But I can tell you that I usually win others over fairly quickly with my witty but less than sarcastic comments.

PHILOSOPHY

I have many thoughts on life, but one thing I truly believe is that everyone is going to die someday. I just hope that it isn't today.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not hosted anybody yet, but I am open to the idea. I also use a site called warmshowers.org. It is sort of like couchsurfing for people who are crazy to travel around the country via bicycle.

Interests

I like people, sometimes. I won't say I am adventurous because how many times do people call themselves "adventurous." But I like to travel, for example I travel to and from work everyday and I take the same exact roads (not really adventurous I might add). I enjoy good coffee, good beer and a bottle of gin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

They are asking just one amazing thing I have seen or done. Just one..so here goes nothing (or just one thing).

I was able to interview homeless families for research asking them very simple family based questions. I was able to ask questions like "what is your favorite holiday and why?" and "can you tell me what kinds of stories your parents told you?" and "what was your favorite memory growing up?" The answers to these questions revealed that these families are not the scum of the earth but rather very normal everyday families you and I interact with on a daily basis. Here is a link to an article that was written on it:
