About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet new people, make friends all around the world, connect with other traveling enthusiasts.

ABOUT ME

Grew up in Minnesota, USA and worked up north for six years which gave me a passion for the outdoors and traveling. I was studying Outdoor Education at a university in Northern Wisconsin before I got taken over by wanderlust. So I dropped out of school and left every comfort I had in the states and moved to Australia and stayed in that area for 2.5 years.
Currently back in America, and hoping to move down south to become a Chef...I have had enough of the cold here in the north and I just love to live in hot places! I have been working in kitchens since I was 14 years old, and spent the last fourteen months living with a Chef in New Zealand, which has certainly inspired me. Here's to a future of good food and good company!

PHILOSOPHY

I am stealing this philosophy from a writer because I don't think I could put it any more eloquently:
"The core of man's spirit comes from new experiences"
This is what I believe and hope to live in for my entire life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently using this website as a means to network with other travelers and eventually help me move down to the southern part of the United States.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I ended up a staying with this amazing older woman in her holiday home on Waiheke island when I first moved to NZ...she treated me to two weeks of gourmet food and wine and then hooked me up with a Chef I eventually worked for.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Into the Wild (John Krakaur), A Walk in the Woods (Bill Bryson), In a Sunburned Country (Bill Bryson), Walden (Henry David Thoreau), The Gift (Hafiz), Siddhartha (Herman Hesse), Brave New World (Aldous Huxley).
Music: I typically find myself listening to Folky/alternative/indie/acoustic music like Ray LaMontagne, Bon Iver, Eddie Vedder, Radical Face. I also enjoy my fair share of top 40 music and hip hop and even some polka from time to time! I like hearing new music so show me what you got and I'm sure I will like it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dropped out of school, left every comfort I had in the states and hopped on a plane down Australia. Best decision I have ever made :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Being only a youg'n, I don't think I have much wisdom to impart but always remember to love people. You meet everyone for a reason and everyone teaches you something either about life or about yourself, so here is my advice: be open and listen!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love food, and don't mind cooking for you and as always I am keen for a good drink!

Countries I’ve Visited
