About Me

Hello world!!

I'm Christian, from Bogotá, Colombia. !!! Find all my details below:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The day I quit my job I left the popular "confort zone" in my country. Perhaps it was a difficult decision, but it turned to the best one afterwards. The reason was to move to India in 2014, since then I opened my mind at all, knowing different cultures and types of people from several corners of the globe.

Unfortunately I'm not traveling all the time, now I settled my hometown in Bogota with my wife, but we both love to travel while is possible and get knowledge from people who share same ideas and thoughts.

Interests

*Love:
Geography (Would like to play a "Geo Challenge" game?)
Football (Supporting Millonarios FC in where Alfredo Di Stefano played in the 50s!!!)
Cats (We already have a queen in our home!!)
Videogames (In all forms and known ways, specially "Retros")
Manufacture & Production (Yeah, I enjoy to see how material things are manufactured and done in a factory)

*Hate:
Smoking (I tried, didn't like it)
Ignorant people (If someone knows Colombia only for drugs stuff and related bullshits; seriously, there is more knowledge, you can grab a book)

Music, Movies, and Books

Peel the onion about what I'm listening now on my Last.fm scrobbling at: http://last.fm/user/MichaelCretu
but keep in mind it does not have all my music, since I host in my laptop, but you can get an idea:

New Age, Electro, House, Classical, Synth-Pop, Dance, Oldies Lovely 80s, Italo Disco, Spanish Rock, Latin American Neotango, MPB and Zulu are some of my preferred music genres.

Enigma, Michael Cretu, Enya, Deep Forest, Depeche Mode, Soda Stereo, The Alan Parsons Project, Disclosure, Björk, Pink Floyd, Juluka, Gustavo Cerati, Mor ve Ötesi, Queen, Mikis Theodorakis (w. Irene Pappas), Phil Collins, Aphrodite's Child, Metallica, Bajofondo, Estados Alterados, INXS, Cafe Tacvba, Bomba Estéreo, Johnny Clegg, Disclosure, Tears for Fears, Christopher Cross, and The Human League are some of the artists/bands from I can feed myself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Definitely my trip to Himalaya mountains, climbing the Kala Patthar at 5644 mt. and reaching the Everest Base Camp in Nepal was a concealed dream for me; when I was 8 years old, I remember I loved to open my geography book and locating those amazing places in where I said myself: I Will go there!!!

In addition to my lovely Nepali experience, I also went to Patagonian area in Argentina, the great door of Antarctica in where I drove while it was snowing (maybe for most of you don't mean nothing at all), but I was imaging myself playing a videogame called "Antarctic Adventure" from NES and listening its music in my mind!! :)), yeah, you can call me mad or nerd, I don't care, Go ahead!!!! :)

In other words I love ice, cold and this kind of weather, despite Bogota does not have such those climate conditions.

Teach, Learn, Share

During my stance in India I guess I learn how to be patient, but how to care, how to cook, how to worry about something that is out of your hands, how to play cricket, how to deal with food in the streets, how to bargain when you go shopping, how to travel without a detailed plan, etc.

That country I love a lot, and when I mix those skills with mines in Colombia, the answer is very significant :)

Also we would love to hear and learn about your interests, your trips and related plans as well!

What I Can Share with Hosts

*Have an amazing conversations with a cup of coffee.
*Show my lovely city: Bogotá (I'm not close to the downtown, but is not difficult to go there)
*Belice & Cocuy, our feline chiefs in operation, :)
*Help with all things you need during your visit in Colombia: must do and don'ts
*Offer a space in my house (When is possible)

Hope in return you can:
*Give me a hand in some tasks or duties at house (if you available).
*Be respectful about timings and cleaning.
*Take care of all stuff in our house.
*Share your experiences and languages you know and most important...........

Get in your mind an amazing experience and share it when you come back to your hometown!!!
