About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of the world as I possibly can. I want to interact with locals and not do the "tourist thing"!

ABOUT ME

I am a 60 plus years young retired nurse whose passion is to travel and explore the local scene. I love to cook, read, knit, crochet, swim, watch movies, walk and talk to the local people. I enjoy ethnic cuisine(will try anything but insects or worms) and a good glass of wine or cold beer. I have eaten off street vendors carts and had some of the tastiest food! I do not smoke and have never used drugs. I am a stickler for cleanliness and hygiene. I am a good listener but I also love to talk. I love languages and besides English I speak fluent Spanish and Hungarian. I love animals and children and they gravitate to me.

PHILOSOPHY

For the most part my philosophy is to live and let live. Do no harm. Help those less fortunate than myself as much as I can.
I do have a prejudice: I dislike people who are racist or classist or simply ignorant!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a guest, my goal is to leave no foot prints. I am very orderly and clean. I do not smoke. I try to help those around me. I am very energetic and healthy. I like to fit in and in Rome do as the Romans do! I do my best to live a "green" life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have hosted four times and surfed once. By sheer accident I hosted the sister of a high school class mate! That was AWESOME. I surfed with a lady in Costa Rica and we had a blast!

Music, Movies, and Books

It is easier to say what I don't like: In movies and books I dislike horror and most Sci-Fi; in music I do not recognize rap as a form of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing things I have done: I flew on a small plane over the Himalayas and went zip-lining in El Eden, Puerto Vallarta at age 65. I also interviewed now Queen Margaret of Denmark when she was "Princess" in 1966 and served as interpreter to Ethel Kennedy when she and then Senator R. F.Kennedy where in Chile in 1965. I met Golda Meir and Pele, also in Chile.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Spanish language and International cooking.
I want to learn more languages, improve my beginning skills! Learn new recipes for ethnic home cooking.
